Thread: 6 Full Branches or Any 24 Boxes?

I post on another Forum regarding SWG and there has been a question floating around for a while that no one seems to know for sure. To unlock your Jedi character, is it required togain 6 full branches or do you only need to gain 24 boxes in any order?

In other words, can you unlock 12 branches and only gain 2 boxes in each, or unlock 8 branches and only gain 3 boxes in each, equaling 24 boxes total and still unlock your Jedi character? Or does it have to be 6 branches unlocked & all 6 filled up to the fourth box, equaling 24 boxesto gain Jedi?

We'd really like this subject resolved. And to all those who respond, saying it is only 24 boxes and not 6 full branches, please let me know if you have done this formula yourself or if you know someone who has tried this formula and it has worked.

Thanx a mill all.

Thanx for the response.

Do you know someone who tried the 24 boxes formula in any order and it didn't work? Or is there an official guide by StarWarsGalaxies.com that specifically states you must gain 6 full braches to unlock your Jedi and not just any 24 boxes? Because we have been having this debate for some time now and it's always the same. Some say 6 full branches &somesay 24 boxes in any order. We need to know for sure from someone who has tried or knows someone who has tried the 24 boxes in any order formula and it didn't work. Not saying you don't know what you're talking about, we've just heard both sides of this so many times and we need to know for sure cause it's eating people up on this other Forum I post on lol.

Thanx again.

This has been covered many, many, many times. Read the stickies.

First, opinions vary as to what is a tree and what is a branch, but...
Regardless of what you call it the important and only thing that matters is this:

You need 6 different vertical rows filled 4 boxes high to start trials.

Combat 4-0-0-0 isone tree, Combat 4-4-0-0 is two trees, Combat 4-4-4-0 is three trees, and Combat 4-4-4-4 is 4 trees. You need 6 full trees (1 vertical row 4 boxes high equals 1 tree) in order to start your exit quest (i.e. Padawan trials).

There is NOBODY that unlocked Jedi by filling in 24 random seperate boxes (unless those 24 boxes were in 6 different vertical rows filled 4 boxes high) they are saying this to retard the progression of future Jedi.

Remember all you need to know is:

6 different vertical rows filled 4 boxes high

Whether you call it "a tree", "a branch", "a waste of free time", "24 boxes", or even if you call it "My pimp mudda wanka janga chain chain for shizzle my nizzle", the requirements are:

6 different vertical rows filled 4 boxes high

Period. That is it, there is no more discussion. There is no more research needed.

If you still have doubts, questions or concerns, refer to the bold, yellow text in this post. In fact just keeprefering to the bold yellow text.

Hopefully this clears up some of the mud.

Wow. Thanx a lot! That really sums it all up for me. I will tell the other people on the other forum I post on, your insightful information. Again Thanx a lot! I really appreciate it a lot! I don't think I was here in these forums when this subject was covered before, so for that I apologize. If my sincerest Thanx are not recognized or understood please refer to the large yellow font within this post.

Oh yeah I think I forgot to mention... Thanx a lot! lol

Yes. I know someone who tried just getting 24 and waited around for the old man for like 2 days. Guess what. He never came.

Thanks for your reply starcrusher - I'm sorry but all the other posts effectively have said "this is true, because it is"

Unless someone has tried it it is NOT proven - no matter how sticky a post is

Logic suggested it had to be full columns because that is what jedi had to chose when publish 10 (or 11, can't remember) happened - they had to choose 6 columns for free to signify the 'training' they didn't actually need to do.

Hopefully in the future there will be less "6 full columns, because it is" and more "6 full columns because people have tried 24 separate boxes and failed" - the first is waffle while the second is a statement actually based upon something...

Umm...I'm fairly sure that if you could get away with only needing 425,000 FS xp per branch for 12 branchesinstead of 1,225,000 FS xp through box 4 for 6 branches, EVERYONE and their brother/uncle/mother/cousin Johnnie would know it and would go that route.

If people could shave off 2,250,000 FS xp in their grind for Jedi, there'd be no question as to whether you could do that - EVERYONE would do it.

Thank you Starcrusher and Ta-Swavo. Starcrusher that clarified it very well for me and I appreciate it very much. And Ta, that was the point I was thinking of as well earlier in this thread. Just because a post is Sticky doesn't make it accurate. Any of us can make a Sticky post on these forums.

And I also agree with the above statment that if people could bypass a couple of million FS experience, most people would, however I also don't think anyone wanted to try that formula and fail when they could have been putting all that energy into filling their 6 branches which guarantees them an unlocked Jedi. So that is why some of us wanted clarification. Unfortuinately, as you can see by a "certain" above post and my posts being low rated (Some people really need to grow up lol) we got the clarification, with a little side of attitude and immaturity. I agree I sunk down to that level in response. All I can say about that is... hehehe I couldn't resist.

Thanx for all the replies. Rate ups come from me to sincere replies.

I wouldn't do it. But thats just me, considering that if you learned 2 boxes of melee speed and 2 accuracy, you wouldn't be as good as someone who did the 4 of both. Also considering that after you complete your 24 boxes, you can't move them around, and instead you would have to grind out the skills you actually wanted. Branches like Luck and Persuasion have no use to me, and all of the crafting since I dislike it as well. Nothing against crafters, but I'm a fighter.
