Is there some special command to use to create your new character?
I logged out, rebooted, etc. and when I try to create a new char on same server it says I cannot.

Do you have 8 characters created already? There is a max of 8 per account

You do get the 2nd slot still, my friend just got padawan the other day, the 2nd slot didn't happen straight away, but was available later, like within a few days.

Huh? What are you talking about? I unlocked on 12/2/04 and I got a second character slot. Your main becomes your jedi, but you DO get a new character on the same server. If the original poster does not already have 8 characters on the same account, then I would suggest ticketing it and hoping you get a CSR who is willing to help you.

Once you complete all of the padawan trials you will recieve your jedi robe and get the ability to unlock another character on the same server. You will get your lightsaber halfway through the trials, but won't unlock 2nd until you complete them all...

Hi there,
Please don't post misinformation. If you don't know all the facts, then you shouldn't be answering the question.
To others reading this and wondering about the character unlock. Please see some of the other more informed posts, they have the correct information.

unlocked post patch 10 REALLY post patch 10 about 2 days before JTL went live. i didnt make my second character until the day i bought JTL. so two things are occuring.
either you already have 8 characters on various shards. or you just need to wait a day or two for a server reset

I actually called SOE about this about 2 weeks ago and they said you still get a second character slot.
Unfortunately, you don't get to start him as an FS profession. The new character will have to go through the ENTIRE mess to become Jedi.
Sadly this is what I will have to do, because I don't want to make my current character a Jedi and ruin all I've made him to be, along with his in-game reputation. Getting rid of the holo-grind was nice, but... I still wish by default the alt became the Jedi.

That's why I made a whole new character to become a Jedi. After looking at the Village and the XP requirements, no way was I going to go through this twice!

I would've done that, but I want it on my home server and I can't afford 2 accounts
