can someone tell me exactly what this tree does... I've read the descriptions and what not, but I don't see how it would come into play with daily activities..

does it fool faction scanners?
do players see you as the same faction as them?
or does it just open different dialogues with npcs?

what's this baby do, and if you can, give an example of how it would be used in game.

thanks

i have it unlocked but have not trained in it yet. This is how others have said it works for them:

evade scans more easily
any faction will fight for you if you arebeing attacked by creatures
cheaper training cost from npc trainers (as if it mattered)
someone said that he has driven by stormtrooper with a TEF and they do not attack

so basically it seems like you can fool pretty much all npcs into thinking they like you. may come in handy if you ask me.

From the F.A.Q. stickied at the top of this page:

  • Persuasion [+20] lower skill training costs, higher % pass of scans, any faction npc's will aid you if anything is aggroed
  • Survey [+20] Gives you 64/64 surveying without Artisan, 384x384 if you have survey
  • Luck [+4] More credits on loot, might help get better loots
  • Healing [+10 Injury Treatment&Speed, +20 Wound Healing Dance/Music] Helps healing power (think stims), DOES NOT affect buffs.

  • Whether It's worth it or not I guess is up to you.

I'd also like to know from somebody who has this or Luck... Do you feel it is worth the skill points?

For Persuasion, the information was accurate right up until the developers decided thatImp/RebNPCswould not attack non-factioned critters/npcs/players.

I'm a Rebel Sergeant, with -5000 Imperial faction... When I was covert, before I got Persuasion, the Stormtroopers would just sit there and watch me get attacked. After I got Persuasion, while I was covert, they joined in the fight. Now, they just stand around again.

I've been scanned a few times by Imperial npcs since I got Persuasion, and they haven't overted me yet. Prior to that, I could expect to be overted once every four or five scans.

Persuasion doesn't seem to have an effect on Probe Droids, though. I just avoid those when I can. If I can't, and they do overt me, I destroy the droid and run before the shuttle drops.

Persuasion does lower training costs by about 15%. I'm thinking it should also increase rewards from NPC missions by 15%, but that doesn't seem to have made it into the game.

Persuasion seems to have no effect on factions other than Imperial/Rebel, though this may be hard to quantify. Certainly, I've had aggro npcs seemingly ignore me for a while, even though they could see me and I had low faction with them.

I picked Persuasion over Luck because I knew that Persuasion worked and probably had hidden effects, while Luck at the time was basically broken; people were reporting that Luck reduced the number of crystal drops and other loots they were seeing, andreplacing it with credit drops. Now it seems that the /loot command and the /lootAll option on the Radial dial has the Luck factor built in, because I'm not seeing crystal dropsor other lootsat the same frequency I used to... but I'm getting more credits overall.

    No, do not get persuassion.

The four essential branches for your Jedi are:

    -melee defense

    - melee speed

    - melee accuracy

    - ranged defense.

The other 12 do not matter for your Jedi.

You can get persuassion if you'd like but it will take you forever to grind and is a total waste of time.

Therefore, since you already know the essential 4 branches, just pick 2 random ones out of Enhanced Reflex and Combat Prowess trees. And it would be smart to pick these random ones to fit the Village phases so you don't lose 3 weeks at a time waiting on an unimportant branch.

My other 2 besides the 4 essential are vehicle control (which I like) and ranged speed.

The important grind is the one from Padawan to Jedi Knight. Don't waste weeks grinding out village skills you will not need.

    A little advice here please...

I just went glowie a week ago. I am a Master dancer/master politician. Persuasion looks like it might be a skill that would fit in with my roleplay.

Do I understand correctly that to train in persuasion I need to be a Master Medic? If so, force sensitive is not a road I will travel.

for persuasion, to get the quest, ya, you have to be master medic. And you cant really do the quest without being master doc.....
