What can give you a free unlock out of curiosity?
Do free unlocks give the whole column to be trainable also autimatically?
Help is greatly appreciated
thanks.

Free unlocks were if you grinded out "holocron" professions.
In the old old old system, (pre-publish 9) you had to grind out so many professions and master them.. first it was 4, then changed to 8, and you would unlock your jedi.
Free unlocks are a calculation of how many of these professions you did. By getting so many of your holocron professions mastered, you would be granted x amount of free unlocks.
When used properly, it unlocked and trained an entire branch. No grinding was necessary.
HOWEVER
The holocron professions are tied to the character database. If your character wasn't made pre-publish 9, then you don't have these professions tied to your character, and cannot get free unlocks.
If you did make your character before then, you can still get unlocks. HOWEVER since holocrons don't work the same way, you have no clue what professions those are.

I mean... I would continue the... "holo-grind" RIGHT NOW!

I cannot confirm first hand, however I know of several people, and heard it from others, who continued to grind out their holo professions and earned some unlocks after they had already started the village.
I wouldn't guarentee that it works 100% like it should, and no doubt it's prolly bugged in some way. Also when the hologrind changed to 8 professions you may not get credit for just one or two holo profs you grind out.. I'm not sure exactly what the conversion formula is.. And they may have put in a silent stop to it, last report of someone grinding a free unlock that I heard of was about 5 months ago
Even if that's the case, I don't think you can earn 6 free unlocks anymore.. I think.. note I said I think, it's for every 2 holoprofs you got one unlock. But since they offered no information on it since they changed, it's all speculation, just like jedi visibility. =P

It could be possible, as I could not find anywhere that a Dev said the the hologrind option was closed...just that a new path to Jedi was open. I guess we won't know for sure until someone tries it.
