Yeah, TKA has gone down hill since I was an expert TKA, almost master. I remember the days when I could at least win SOME of the p v p battle by luckily catching someone off guard and spamming knockdown. Now I can't even do that! The Expert Pistol Specialist can just run around me shooting randomly, and usually wins. That's sad when a beginner in another profession can take down a near master in an "elite" profession.

Thats the problem with this game. If they would have put in stat mods that were exclusively suited to each profession then that would have given players more incentive NOT to spam specials like Knockdown 20 times in a row.

In my personal opinion, the first thing they should have done to the unarmed profession is give them the best speed of all the other professions in the combat relm. This would have done a lot towards balancing issues.

The next thing they should have done is given us an evasion stat mod that would end up being around 50% evasion by the time we reached Teras Kasi Master.

If they'd have done these 2 simple things (among other minor problem sloving things) then I think we would still be very viable right now.

On a side note, I'd personally take a decrease in the damage I do if I was assured that I could stay in a fight up to 50% longer than I can now......

Couldn't agree more with your post. As of now though, it is near impossible to win in p v p because of the kiting issues. I can follow a marksman all day, but unless they are stupid enough to stop and let me wail on them, they win every time. The increase in speed and the evasion that you mentioned (especially the evasion) are very good ideas, but I think that perhapsa shorter timer on burst run for TKA would be in order. Then I could catch up to those noob marksmen that kited me, and show them who's boss.

Unlocked Mid-October 2004

Finished Easter Sunday, 2005.

Master Lightsaber

Healing 4/4/0/4

Enhancement 4/4/0/4

Got on the terms for the first time when starting the knight trials (with MLS under my belt and only 10 mill xpleft)

Lost xp only once (200k from a clone). It came last Friday night when I was close to finishing my second to last box. (Got lag-killed by spawns, then the first ever BHs tocome after me showed up and kept me from rezzing).

Never ground xp at a POI.

Neverused a bugged spawn.

Never ran around waving my saber.

Now I can finally get back to playing the game as I used to

Congrats!

I keep eyeing that template you have.. How well do you tank things? Can you tank Black Sun and Force NPC's pretty easy?

Haven't tried Black Sun, but I'd be pretty confident against them. Large numbers of tough mobs are doable, but you will suck down your force quick, so make sure you have an exit strategy.

Most force NPCs are usually no problem. If you see them and are prepared for them, that is. With protection from their openingforce attacks, the only thing you have to worry about is if they pull an AP2 melee weapon of some type. Then it hurts. And the heal delay means you have to plan for healsinbetween yourattacks. Only guys that I've run from are the medium armor, high-HAM, 80% resist guys that don't have a title, just a name. And that was because there were 2 of them and I was in steep terrain where I didn't see they were there. 1-1 I probably wouldn't be concerned, but in this case, they got the jump on mewith posture down/dizzy and worked my health down to a sliver before I could even react properly.

I haven't really tested myself against all the NPC types that are out there yet. In general though, when engaging a target, I'll use synthsteak instead of force armor, unless it becomes clear they're really going to get some good hits faster than I can kill em. Then I flip it on and then try to take them out as fast as possible. Armor will suck you dry faster than you can say "where'd my force go?", so you have to know when to use it and when not to. For example, when hunting krayts with a tank, I only turn on the armor when fighting giants or tougher, as I know at some point my tank will go KD/Dizzy and I'll need that protection for the hits I take before my tank gets back up and taunts.

Oh, the mokk stronghold is fine. It can get a little hairy if you get too many on you, but for the most part, synth and force armor works well there. I've cleared it once without really having force issues.

As for theheavy-dutyforce NPCguys, yeah, like I said, if you see them coming and can prepare for it, they shouldn't be difficult. They just snuck up on me and got their licks in before I knew what was happening.

Those are the ones I hunt every day. I got killed yesterday by two of them. My force armor wore off and my belly was pretty full.. They got a few lucky hits in and sent me packing.. then I hit escape, Opps.. cloned.

I only have force armor 1 and it doesn't seem to drain to awful fast.. I'm going to drop forcerun2 for forcearmor2 since I mainly just do pve.

Try the Mokk stronghold POI on dantooine if u get bored and let me know how your template fairs running into that mess. If it fairs well I'm going do it I think. I really miss meditate and heal wounds.

Thats all from me
