Quite a few threads on this, plus it's in the "Shipwright Bugs/Issues" sticky.
Bottom line? We don't know ![]()

is shipwright xp ever gona be able to be traded in for jedi xp?
recently it was stated that in-game bugs go directly to QA for assessment. a course i am taking is to submit /bug reports from time-to-time suggesting -- in the friendliest possible terms -- that my "player character" "experience" is lessened by the fact that shipwrights cannot use their xp to gain the same force-sensitive bonuses available to all other crafters. further, i suggest that they should immediately add this ability.
i realize some people, for whatever reason, do not agree with conversion from shipwright xp to fsxp. but i have yet to read a convincing argument why shipwrights, with the same level of skill point investment as any elite crafting profession, should be singled out and denied conversion of xp that can be used to further our professional advancement.
The reason I humbly ask this, is that bugs are technical problems to be fixed/solved. Issues are changes either additions or subtractions to/from a profession for instance. I know to some of you folks, experience conversion is a BIG issue. I will make sure that word gets through. Please save the bug reports for technical problems.
You can of course do whatever you want, I'm only asking.
Thanks,

I am my PA's only Shipwright and that will likely remain the case, since the profession is a serious drain on the sanity to many people. Personally, I enjoy playing with ship components and have no trouble with hand crafting out part after part after part.
However, this lack of conversion has significantly hindered my ability to move up the FS Crafting Branch I have unlocked, I have had it unlocked for going on 9 months now and I still haven't bumped up one box past the initial box.
I am a casual player and I am okay with the fact that it will take me more then one year to unlock the Jedi slot, but this lack of Shipwright XP Conversion is simply a seriously obnoxious waste of time. I am stuck working up some other Crafting profession, which means I need to drop my Combat skills to the point that hanging out on Quests with PA members is going to be impossible.
I just want some relief from this fun draining problem. They don't even have to increase the Shipwright XP Cap or give any kind of significant conversion rate. I just want something for the money that I pay SOE every 6 months.
In my opinion, this isn't a show-stopper. You can pick up any number of other crafting professions and craft something else to convert into Force Crafting XP. Personally, this wasn't difficult for me since I was already a Master Droid Engineer. However, if you have the resources and time to grind Force Crafting XP, the notion of a picking up another crafting profession (if you don't already have one) is a relatively minor work-around.

Being a casual player and someone who is interested in taking advantage of all the aspects of the game, I am VERY limited in what I can do beyond being a Master Shipwright and one Elite Master Combat professions.
Right now, my character is a 4033 Artisan (For running my store and obtaining resources), a Master Shipwright, Master Carbineer, 0444 Marksmen and I just obtained Novice Pistoleer. That leaves me with VERY few skill points to perform other tasks with. At best, I will be able to creep up most of one Branch in another Elite Crafting Profession, but I would rather work my CL up just a tad to be more effective in heading out with my PA while we all work on the combat grind.
Having Shipwright XP be able to be converted will greatly enhance my ability to take advantage of the other aspects of this game without negatively impacting my grind towards Jedi. It will simply enhance my fun.

In my opinion, if you have time to grind out FS skills, you are not a casual gamer. However, this is just an opinion. Like I said, this isn't a show-stopper. If it were a show-stopper, you would have no way what-so-ever to earn FS skills as a Shipwright, and this is not the case.

I am trying to become a FS crafter, and i am a shipwright. I am in the village yet the xp doesnt transfer over.. is this an oversight? can we look into getting this changed so that my crafting xp can be used for Crafting FS ?
it should be convertable but they havent allowed it yet =/
