I have been in contact with the Better Business Bureau about the upcoming changes.


The one that concerns me the most, and the one that should TERRIFY the developement team are issues surrounding the removal of the FS system, quite specifically, the extra character slot.


Making a change to the game that denies one player access to services that are allowed to other subscribers is right on the line of discriminatory and exclusionary behavior. Allowing some characters to have an extra character slot and not others certainly counts as denial of services.


I am currently in the last box of my fs grind, but with the abolition of slicing xp, got screwed out of a way to complete it short of grinding a whole new template, which time no longer allows for. There are rumors about bugs that prevent one from completeing the village arc, and have for some time now.


The answer to this problem is simple. SoE should give the unlock slot to anyone who has unlocked their six FS trees, as completion has been made impossible (in what seems a direct effort to defraud their subscribers -- i paid for this service under the understanding that a second slot would be made available, and SoE has decided otherwise).


This is tricky ground for you gentlemen. I suggest you think long and hard about the elimination of the extra character slot -- the fact of the matter is that your current decision in that regards places you in a very actionable position.


And, btw, I also spoke to the BBB about the possibility of being banned from forum services for encouraging others to report this questionable activity, and they assured me that any action takenagainst me for reporting what is a blatantly unethical business practice will be dealt with most severely. They LOVE when companies try to punish whistle blowers. Think long and hard about that before you drop a ban on me, or even delete this post.

Wookus have the Devs said that you'll never be able to unlock a second slot after the NGE?

Sorry to say it, but you could report them to the bbb all day long and it wouldn't matter. When you log in each time you agree that the game can change at any time.

Actually, no... they love online fraud, where people sell a product or service and then deliver something else entirely. They claim it is no different than buying a product in the store and opening it up later to find something entirely different inside, or subscribing to one magazine and then having another delivered. It is called theft by deception: quite simply, it is a Bait and Switch. When we paid for this service, it was under the belief that certain services would be provided. Now, we are told those services are no longer available.


Crime is crime, Rubik. There are several issues of misrepresentation, deception, and outright fraud involved here.


And dont hate... I think the changes are great ideas ACROSS THE BOARD, but this one thing is no little deal. I paid the same for my account as anyone with the unlock. ARe they going to delete everyones extra characters? No. Are they going to refund half of my subscription fee? No. Are they going to give me another ten property lots? Am I being delivered the same service they are? No.


I simply posted this to inform others that THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES here. SoE is dangerously close to breaking the law, and there is something that can be done about it if you dont want the un-lubed **edit** screwing they are serving up.

And Guy, interestingly enough, it only applies if i click "I agree". Stop agreeing and you are no longer bound by it. By not clicking "I agree", you are saying "This is unacceptable: this is not what i paid for". Just dont download the patch.


I've already asked them about this. EULA dont mean krep.

thanks for your efforts.

people have invested a lot of time and money into this game. they deserve to get more, not less.



SWG "Snack of Choice"
Pre NGE= Potato Chips
Post NGE= Paint Chips

ACCOUNT CANCELLED- they took a good game and ruined it and the community and introduced numerous bugs NOT WORTH $15 A MONTH until this game is fixed eta 6 months at least (acct runs out Jan 27th)

SOE's actions are unlawful where I live (Alabama) so they need to rethink this. Its going to cost them a lot in the future. It is a game but it is also a product that was sold under a contract. That contract can't protect SOE when they commit fraud.



These are the biggest problems with SWG right now.
1. No reason to group 99% of the time in PVE.
2. 95% of No Trade is not needed.
3. No new quests for 4 months now.
4. Decay in the GCW officer ranks is wrong.
5. Trader and entertainer professions are messed up.
6. Broken Quests.
7. Very little trust between the players and SOE.
8. Dead houses kill the feel of the game.

it says on the box game may change online, they are not frauding cuz they decide to change the game again, just cuz they chose a really bad timing to announce it doesnt mean anything. you chose to do the fs grind not them, they didnt say "YOU MUST START AND COMPLETE THE FS GRIND"

SO based on this logic, because Commando's can use a flame thrower and I can't because I am a Bounty Hunter, then I can sue SOE because Commando's get content that I don't?


Sounds a lot more foolish when I use that example, doesn't it?

lol this post is funny.



That's the problem nobody ever reads the EULA.


You download patches, update software, login to websites, they usually have a EULA.


If you actually took the time to read that, you would see that SOE is covered, they are allowed to do anything they want.
