I remember there was a post about grinding in AFK, grouped with at least1 doctor, somewhere on the forums... keep searching for it, it should be there somewhere.

About the AFK thing... it is controversial, some may not like it, but considering the new combat xp conversion rate and other changes (for example the lack of a decent way to get good xp without a group after recent publishes), I think it is not wrong to use these techniques, especially for more casual gamers who have a work, a life, or anything else going that keep them busy most of the day. A good player is not made just by how "honestly" he grinded the game...

AFK grinding isn't good...

...but I pay a monthly fee so I can be on-line all the time if I want too

...the problem with afk grinding is that you can easly get killed while using a s*h*i*t*y macro or being in a wrong spot

...so I would suggest make an afk macro for dancing or playing music or buffing and forgot about weapon and combat xp

...or try to find the right spot with the right macro and lose your playtime in trying to find something like that for a few days, till the devs nerf it

Have fun playing

I was thinking the same thing. He sold his first Jedi on Ebay and wants to AFK grind another one so he can sell it again.

Hmmm yeah, that would be bad. Anyhow, I want to be clear: I doubt there isa way to AFK grind more than 5-10% of the full grind because you 1) die often 2) park your character in the wrong spot 3) there are connection issues 4) somebody leaves your group etc.etc. Also I believe AFK grinding is possible only in groups... never heard of anybody successfullytrying this as a solo player. At least that's what I remember people saying about AFK grinding in some dungeons and in some speciallocations in Kash.

I never used macros myself, so I may not be the best one to give suggestions on the subject. I just thought about it as a possibility after the new combat xp was introduced. I do not mean to complain, I know this was done to fix other exploits, but since I am busy all day at work, I usually can play no more than 1-2 hours (if I am lucky) per day, during the night.

Considering I was unable to become glowy because of my dial-up connection until they introduced new badges (the warren and corvette were unplayable on my 56k) I have already waited more than almost anybody else in the game to enter the village (14 months from the registration of my first toon); Isubmitted trouble ticketsfor these problems, I tried to support some threads about the same connection problems on the forums, butI never received a reply. Finally, for some mysterious reason, my character wasn't credited the Phase2skill I unlocked during the past cycle, but CSR said they could do nothing because they don't have logs for everything we do in the game to verify my story.

Well, all this to sayI thought that saving myself just 10-12 hours of mindless grinding was not that bad after all, considering my FS path hasn't been *that* easy or fun.

I heard the macro posted above works well, although not tried it myself.

And in response to the AFK grinding, the game is targeted to all people, not just those without a job/girlfriend/social life. So there should be some way for us people who can/will only dedicate a couple of hours a day to playing, but still want to go Jedi, achieve what we want. Until they develop a system that is fair and gives the same kind of opportunities to those who play for 12 hours a day the same as those who play for 2, there is nothing wrong with a little AFK macro. This is why the devs haven't nerfed/removed it yet.
