Do any of you wear the mini armour set....boots, chestplate, helment, gloves? Or does everyone suit up with a full set of armour?

if i wasn't grinding on Dathomir, i'd wear the mini set. But due to the ever present problem of the Nightsister stalkers on Dathomir lately, i wear a full suit.

The mini-set only works pvp not pve. If you are not wearing pants in pve you will notice you are getting hit for like 7-12 damage then all of a sudden you will get hit for like 150 damage, or if you are fighting krayts you will be getting hit for 25-35 damage then all of a sudden get hit for 500-700 damage. The only thing that i have found that works for both pvp and pve is not wearing arm armor. I have never wore arm armor for either pvp or pve and never get hit through an armor hole.
So to clear things up...
1. mini-set - helmet, gloves, boots, chestplate
a. pvp - yes it works fine
b. pve - no it does not work properly
2. full armor except arm armor
a. pvp - yes it works fine
b. yes it works fine

Interesting, thanks Voave25.
I'll have to try this out. As the less armour i have to wear, the better

now even less armor
The devs are removing damage to hands and feet so now you wont have to wear gloves or boots.
check the species forums.
AS of the 15th hands and feet were still taking hits so just check your combat logs one day this damage will disappear

Just to clarify: pvp miniset is; helmet, chest, gloves, & boots
pve minset is; helmet, chest, gloves, boots & legs ?
Anything to cut costs is welcome news. While we're at it, is there any special insight on armor maintanence? When is the best time to use the armor repair tool? All I've been able to determine from teh forums and experience is that it's bugged and there is no help to be had other than to try it before you lose it.

in general, in both PvE and PvP i only wear the 4 piece suit. I never get hit more than 100ish by anything. It may also help to have ranged/melee mitigation 3, but I'm not sure on that

The gloves make a big difference i was using grenades without wearing gloves and i was finding my health bar go down very fast indeed, with the gloves it hardly moves.

This isnt necessarily true...with the exception of higher end npc's, ns, krayts, etc., i never wear anything but a helmet, chest plate, gloves, and boots. This goes for both PVE and PVP...i think the problem is that there are too many things to account for such as templates, armor quality, and ca/aa mods...For instance, a MTK / Fencer 4440 with the right skill mods, and armor that is 80% kinetic/energy/blast-10% stun- 70% base, should have no problem with a mini suit in most situations, 'nading included.
