Please help me answer my questions:
--How much faster do you get combat xp with thermal detonators than C12s?
--Are thermal detonators the best grenade to use?
--Im a TKM/Riflemen, should i drop one of the two to get commando to grind faster?

1. alot faster
2. commando 4/0/0/0 - thermals or imperial det's : m.commando Protons
3. its up to you. if you want to gain fs xp faster then go commando and be bored out of your mind throwin nades or you can stay current temp and take your time and have fun.

--About 3 times faster, easily. The damage Thermals do compared to C12's is compared to a survival knife and a power hammwer.
--Thermals are good, but many do Imperial Dets, and I would suggest them. They aren't much difference between them and Therms though there is a difference, it is barely noticalbe

Yes, better to drop Rifleman for the grenade grind ... TKM means you have high toughness while getting 5k XP per kill, and it willbe far more useful later (except for Mel, perhaps).

/agree Imperial dets are generally the way to go. there also isn't a HUGE difference in 3000 vs 4000 commando. +10 speed to be exact...but if you can't spare the skill points, 3000 works fine for imp dets.

can you use thermals at 4000 and what is the difference between them?
I happened to find thermals at 80k which is kinda cheap for my server

i agree that there isn't a HUGE difference between Imps and Thermals, but Imps are faster.
Nades is worth it if you can afford it. I've only been Commando 4 x x x for a couple weeks and I'm already seeing a huge difference. I don't get to play a lot, so I want to have a clear reason for playing when I do and I'm happy with the progess I've made with Nades. As TKM/Swords I wasn't progressing nearly as fast and was playing a lot more.

so what would be the average dmg and speed for imp and therm's? right now i have factories producing the components for them and atm im missing crism sil ore for therm which i intended to make. if there really is "no huge difference" between the two, ill go imp.

Thermalsare the way to go.
There are posts all over talking about the pro's and con's, go with thermals.

Why are you talking about speed in this post with nades? as far as i know the speed is still bugged since every nade thrown is at the same speed. If I am wrong please let me know. But other than speed Iagree totally

I'm sure that the folks who crunch the numbers know the best method. I'd just like to say that I was getting 4000-4500 exp on giant baz nitches using c22's as a 3000 commando. That was in addition to the 10% combat exp from the actual exp I got from weapon use.
If you're on a tight budget, c22's work pretty darn well. I'm pretty sure they even work with novice commando 0000. On my server, someone offered to make me 40 crates of therms for 4million credits. I'm sure that's not a terrible price, but it's 2 million more than I even have so it's not really an option for me.
