Thread: An enjoyable way to survive the grind???
They fixed the spaceship problem -yeah butit took a really really long time, like they hadn't really thought of it till the day before they said it was coming out...
But the JEDI issue.. hmmm
The force sensitive quests take a really really long time too...
Firstly if you haven't been given free slots for your patience then you gottaget all those badges to get glowy... which is mostly fun. Theforce sensitive missions are mostly fun too. On the other hand the grind for force sensitive experience is not fun, it is lame.
It takes me 1-1.5 hours to max unarmed exp with the combat expthat gives me 60000 force sensitive exp. Beforethat I have to get a full HAM buff that which can take anything from 10-40 minutes. Then I have to traveltothe Dathomirvillage n back. This journey could potentially be up to 40 minutes. And then there is other time consuming activities likechatting andshopping. So in the end it takes up to 3 hours to bank my 60000 force sensitive exp.. and for me three hours is enough time spentsitting on a computer chair and its game over.
1200000 force sensitive exp per branch, so I need to max exp 20 times per branch thats 120 times until I can even begin the jedi grind. OKa year ago I was logging on every day but now I log once or twice a week at best. Now if I play twice a week its going to take me 60weeks to become a jedi initiatethats OVER A YEAR of really really boring game play, just to earn the right to swing a novice glowy nerf stick.
I want to be a Jedi and the long time thing isn'tso bad when you consider that you are meant to EARN JEDI and there aren't spose to bemany Jedi around anyway (according to ALL versions of the story)
But the thing thatbothers me isTHE GRIND IS REALLY BORING. Sure I don't have to grind the exp but then its going to take me years to become a jedi. The grind and the travelling is tedious and this part of the game LACKS CREATIVITY.
SWG isn't the worst game of the year but for meit seems to be ending with an anti-climax. What do other people think?
Are you enjoying the force sensitive grind?
Please, what is the most enjoyable way to survive the grind?
this also forces you to master another profession if you are not combat oriented, like, there is only one crafting tree, so that takes what... 12 weeks to complete? and THEN there is the senses which requires you to take up another skill, like dancing slicing and such. COMBAT takes forever because you need to get buffs, kill 30 bazzillion thngs come back, get the exp, and such.
What I think it should be is something along the lines of... oh, QUESTS that give you a box! not quests that let you TRAIN in a tree after you grind 1 million (or so) force exp per tree, and wait 3 weeks for another one to begin! what is the point of slaying those things, as the jedi say "they are not all combat" so why must WE be to become them? the quests are good, but the grinding is unrelated and riddiculous! since when to become a jedi must you pay 12000 credits for a buff, get into a solo group and slay 300 critters? makes NO sense. We cant even USE the force, thus taking away the "force sensitive". even those little kids coudl use it in ep 2, what do we get? "kill these people, then go to dantooine and grind 1million force exp, because its teh way of the jedi"
Hey thanks everyone, these posts do work.
First let me say, MERENDEL YOU ARE A MACHINE!
Secondly yeah I should bring more beer and hunting in solo groups on Dantooine while chatting is actually quite fun albeit somewhat slower. Also Geno caves would yield more loot so good advice on all fronts. And geez yeah I should be hunting baz on Dath doh!
What I've been doing is going to the squill caves maxing unarmed then heading all the way to Dath. Probably still a fast way to grind but yeah I gotta snap outa that trip... (I had a nightmare where I was in the Squill caves with looming squills trying to munch me!)
I thinking a combination of different places and groups, and the unarmed sword/pikeman granede skill mix will make it all good.
Nice creative input. Yeah I gotta find that groove, lol.
MTFBWYalways...
