Never.

Those boxes are required to BE a jedi.

Heres an interesting question though - Is it actually possible to drop the skills?

For example lets say that I want to unlock my second char, return my first character to 'pre-village' status and then pursue Jedi with the second character?

Hmmm... I don't think you want to grind Jedi twice unless you are:

A. Really, really bored

B. Unemplyed and don't expect to get a job for a year

C. Clinically Insane

You can't return your main to "pre-village" status.

You have to take Padawan to get your second character, and you can't drop Padawan.

Now, as I understand it, you can, at any point, take a 7th FS branch, and then drop one, thus allowing you to re-template your FS stuff. But you must always have 6.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong on any of this.

you can take your 2nd char to padawan and then drop the FS skills on your 1st and go back to being a regular char, but that wouldn't just be insane, it would be stupid since you would have to go thru ALL the work again.

since 6 branches are required to BE jedi, this has left some people with undesired branches. this is why many of us want to be able to convert jedi xp at a 1:1 ratio, so we can learn a 7th then drop the one we dont want.

Here is a question I was pondering today.....

You get glowy, you grind FS, you make Padawan, you get new character slot....

What happens if you then repeat the process with character #2

Does your free unlock get a free unlock?

I have a question along these lines, although it is already too late for me. If two people are playing SWG (on one account) one on one server one on another server, and both finish the village and become padawan, do both characters unlock a second character on thier respective servers? Originally I had one account and my wife and I were attempting to unlock jedi, back in the holo grind days. Since she was home all day I knew there was no way to win. Back then it was the second character that became jedi and you were limited to one per account I thought. Coming in second in that race would have hurt real bad. After I bought a second account and developed a female character for my wife to switch to my server, she decided to stay on her server. It was at that point that I realized I could not win the race and started my gind over with my female alt. Now I am stuck with her becoming my jedi. But I am wondering if I had stuck it out, could we both have unlocked second characters on the same account. By the way I am on my 6th branch in the village and she is on her 3rd. I should have never given up the race.

Tell that to the padawan that has -10mil XP. That is my biggest fear about going Jedi is that I will get board grinding and try hunting with my friends get killed by a bounty hunter a bunch of times and end up stuck as a padawan with lightsaber 0010, and unable (do to lost skill points that I cant get back) to go back to my old non Jedi template. From what I read if you are careless with you Jedi padawan it might actually faster to grind a new toon though the village as apposed to working of negative XP. Yust a thought I am not a jedi and problly don’t know what I am talking about but that is my fear about going Jedi.

The simple answer to your fears, don't grind with your friends.

The simpler answer: don't complete the 6th tree.

Not saying this as a threat, but take a good look at your character.....does this characters story involve being a Jedi? Is it right for them?

If not, take some FS skills and walk away, that's what I did.
