They did have it on TC as a warning.
Now, I'm a Jedi already(see Obi-Wan link in sig), but I just wanted to address your comment. Everybody in this forum was working on Jedi before it was on TC(for the most part), so the only "warning" is to the people who want to start later. The people who were already working on Jedi had no "warning" that this was going to happen later on.
You guys are being to nice. I say screw you SOE/SWG! I was wondering, and this question goes directly to those in charge of the development of the game. Did all of you come from Nissan. I say this b/c back in the late 90's Nissan was all screwed up. The "brains" behind the development of the cars were stupid! First they decided to get rid of the 300ZX, which was a huge mistake for Nissan, thier reasoning behind this was because the "brains" of the corporation decided that the ZX was unlike any other car so they got rid of it. Thier next step was to make all other vehicles in thier line up to resemble each other or another model already on the market. This of course was a mistake and Nissan almost bought it. Fortunately Nissan came under new management and was restructured. The brains behind the flop were fired. Nissan again began to apeal to what the customers and the market wanted. Again Nissan shines.
So my question to you is, did you all come from Nissan at once or did you trickle over bit by bit so that you could ignore what the customers and destroy what we have come to love. Go work for Nintendo or something. Its on the brink anyway, Im sure Sony would pay you guys to go over there to ruin what chances Nintendo may have had.

all i got to say is...
good ridance. if you all act like babies on the forums your probably act like babies in game and we are all better off without you. dont let the door hit you on the way out.
They have a valid point. They pay to play a game and have fun, not do repetitive stuff over and over and over again on Dantooine's mining post.
And you are probably being an @s$ in game too just as you seem o be in real life.
Although I do feel for you guys who are grinding to become Jedi, I do believe this patch/nerf is a good thing.
I have been playing for almost 600 days now, I had no interest in the hologrind, and when publish 10 was released I went to the village as I was already glowy and did the quests (just for the extra content more than any other reason). I traded my xp in at the village when I happened to cap and filled my 6 branches before the CU hit.
Yes I am a Jedi before you ask, and I did this for extra content more than anything else.
My reasoning for thinking this patch/nerf is a good thing is this...
I am co-leader of a guild on my server, and have played this game for well over a year. In my time I have amassed 100+ badges, I've pretty much seen and done most things in game. What disturbs me (I am sure this happens in all guilds and not just ours), is the number of newbies who join and all they care about it getting to Jedi. This patch/nerf will slow people down and (maybe) make them pay the game a bit more. It gets depressing when you examine all those level 80 charcters out there and they have the standard list of 15-20 badges they need for glowy.
This game is huge, there is so much that can be done, and by making Jedi reachable 'reasonably' easily SOE have sectioned off a lot of the content from the majority of players.
I do feel for you veteran players out there who are still working on unlocking your Jedi, but for all the newbies who are complaining (call me heartless if you wish) I don't feel too sorry for you. In my eyes its the newbie player who does nothing but grind to Jedi then grind through Jedi that causes the problems with the Jedi population, and if this new patch/nerf makes it more likely that you will get out there and play the game and join in with the community, then in my eyes thats a good thing.
Flame on.....

Sooner or later, the content runs out, as in most MMORPGs.
May i just say, i have been playing this game since october 2004 and i am a casual gamer.
I unlocked my "Glowy Bits" around january and have been slowly grinding as and when whislt still having fun in the game. I Worked out that i needed another 7 weeks to unlock the right branches i wanted and to grind all of the FS XP i needed.
Th thing that annoys me is when your running a marathon for a long time, and someone decides to keep moving the finishline before you reach it. It will now take me over 5 months to completely unlock, and i wont be around then unfortunately as im joining the army and terminating SoE contracts
Why punish those of us who try do do it properly and not just grind 24/7, You ought to promote people actually being able to play this game whilst also being able to have the time to have a life outside of it, and not just make Jedi available for the Uber Nerds.
I Am very dissapointed and thought you wouldnt be a bunch of money grabbing barstards, Well, im off to play a game that definately looks after its members, GuildWars. At least they dont have to worry about keeping peoples subscriptions going cause they dont have to pay.
Ok, heres my next comment.
The only real reason i wanted to grind jedi, was to unlock my alt char and get more value for my money.
If SoE made alt unlocking Quest Based, the "Find aHero" quest to unlock your alt, then they wouldnt have as many people going jedi just to get an alt
