Please tell me they're going to fix this... it renders the bases further than 3km from the village useless, not to mention putting a long, dull ending to an awesomely fun quest.

I was 6km away and had plenty of time.

Same here, I did a 6k run in 52 minutes, and I even had trouble getting the commander to get out of the base, could have done it in 50. If you walk with no interruptions, I averaged 110-120m per minute. If you had a perfect run, 7k would not be out of the question. You just have to be patient. I had a group of 5 with me, it could be done with less, and I was never attacked. Are you stopping to attack the sith? Most times you can even outrun them. They seem to walk as well. Are you getting attacked by creatures? Ideally the escorter should have explore 4 for mask scent and terrain negotiation. Strangely enough, the commander seems to move faster up and down hills.

I read somewhere that a Doctor buffed the Commander and it worked for them. The Commander kept up while the player was running. I'd like to see that but I'm sure it's been fixed.

Oh, and I actually had a lot of fun running this quest. We had a ranger out front to scout for red mobs, 2 people to escort me, and 2 more to bring up the rear and check for following sith. Everyone seemed to enjoy their roles, we made two runs that night, would have made a third but someone just hit the base we had the codes too, and the majority of the group had to be up early the next day. My only gripe with the quest is that the turrets were too powerful compared to last time, even post CU. I was able to take my master pistoleer with no medic and take out both turrets. It was tricky, and I had some close calls, but nothing like being incapped after only doing 1/4 the damage on one turret.

Although it is a pain that he still walks (even though they say it has been "FIXED" three times now go figure.. ) it is still possible. A guildmate and I did it within time limits.

But when the person behind him is holding an obsidian pike then he had better not slow down

Just make sure to have a small group with you and don't stop for anything. Sith...keep walking...Mobs in the way....keep walking...let everyone else worry about droppping them and you just keep walking and have someone walk behind him incase you get 41m or more ahead and he takes off running the other way. He may not walk fast to the village but he runs like hell back to wear you picked him up at.

AV-21's don't have trunks, you would have to tie him to a desert skiff.

Could tie him to the hood like a deer. LOL!!!

If it was realisticI could just throw him in the trunk of my AV-21 and be back to the village in no time. Walking your escorts long distances is nothing but boring and unrealistic. Then again there is a lot of things put in this game that are just way too time consuming. Still love the game though!
