I played SWG last year but had to quit for some time. I started in February of 2004 and unlocked my Jedi slotin June of 2004. To do this I had to grind out 19 profession.

I just started playing again in June, and am currently waiting to for 4 more village phases. I have all the FS xp I will need.

So, before the village, it took me 13 weeks to become a Jedi. (I know a guy who did it in 10 weeks with 11 profs, and another that took 10 months, doing 32 professions).

After the village i have played for 5 weeks, and all that remains is to unlock 4 more FS skills, kill Mell., and complete the Padawan trails.Estimated total time to complete is 16 weeks IF EVERYTHING GOES WITHOUT A HITCH. Realistically, village phases always take more then 3 weeks, it will take several days to complete my last phase, plus the time waiting for the old man, and the Trials. Realistically, it is closer to 18-20 total weeks.

Here is my problem...SOE made it possible to complete the grinding portion for the FS path in one week, due to double xp. Did I get 7 1/2 million FS xp too easily? Probably, but, regardless, I have it. I also have 3 plus months to goof off waiting for the next 4 village phases. I think the village phases are too long, and the 1 quest per phase limitation is unnecessary. Any other profession can be mastered in a weeks time. For that matter, a full template Jedi can be complete in 2 weeks if you know what you are doing and put the time in. I see no reason why an artificial obsticle should be put in place that makes me wait 3 months to complete my template. The argument that everyone will be a Jedi no longer applies, as it is impossible to stand in any major star port without seeing several glow sticks waving in the air.

Please, reduce the village timer, or at least, let me do more than one quest per phase. I follow the path to the dark side, which should be swift and easy.

So basically you pay about seventy or eighty bucks plus five months worth of grinding/sitting around on your ass waiting for your Jedi.

By the time you actually get your Jedi they will probably be nerfed so badly that a master brawler will open up a can on you. Sounds like fun eh?

thats funny, check out the BH or jedi forums and they all say how quick and easy it is NOW rather than with the holos

Never said it was hard to get Jedi now, but 18 weeks is definately a long time to wait on a character. I can get to lvl 60 in EQ in less time.

I can get three or four level 60's in World of Warcraft in 18 weeks.

Yeah we need more jedi and we need them now!
Lets start dealing out jedis at starports, insted of complimentary drinks on the flight you get a jedi!

path to Padawan is to easy, before long 85% of everyone will have a Jedi Alt

Like others have said, games so broke only giving everyone a shot at Jedi keeps them making $$

the path to jedi isnt to long. its much to short and easy

oop. didnt mean to sound like i was flaming ya. Just saying how funny it is that many ppl like yourself unlocked their jedi far quicker in the holo system than people are in the current village system. Yet everyone seems to think the village system is so much quicker. Imagine if the hologrind was still in place...i bet there'd be even more jedi....

If you think the fs grind is long, give up now. The jedi grind is 32 mil xp, about 1k per kill.

Too long? You're joking, right? Jedi are supposed to be rare and powerful. A Jedi is not like any other profession dude, you should't be able to master it in a week. So you got all your XP done due to double XP? Congratulations. Would you like a cookie? There has to be a time limit on this kind of thing. If you could be a Jedi in a week, it'd be the other professions that become rare. It's not supposed to be quick or easy dude, so get over it and wait like the rest of us.
