I feel your pain. I too only had 3 boxes left. I cancelled. I guess, I'll just go play KOTOR1 n 2 for my jedi fix and save my 15 bucks a month.

Its clear to me the devs will have to fix this so I am going to be patient. I lost a lot of time because I originally thought the CU was going to hit in August.

Patience ? Yes well patience ran out sometime in late 03' . Put in a backup supply of patience to get FS etc. Blew that out. Put so much XP in FS XP i couldnt respec higher than cl62. Even though by filling boxes you didnt need in BE or something you could get more combat levels. Heaven forbid they told us the CL formula before this CU came out.Or told us the rules of the respec.Im un freaking respecable, unable to grind and the posts about Mel have me in fits. Hell i dont have 7 jedi friends to help me (and die).

Very much agree. I ran some numbers and it is crazy. The xp needs to be majorly adjusted. At this time, for me personally, to FIND and kill enough things at my level(80) for 20K xp takes me about 30 minutes, assuming I don't take any unexpected trips to the cloner (quite rare that I don't, lol.) Since specific combat xp trades in at 30:1, general 3:1 and the rate you get general is 1/10 of specific, it all works out to 15:1 of specific if you trade in all your specific and general combat xp from fighting. Assuming one were to take the all combat route, which is a valid way to do it, that would require 110,250,000 specific combat xp(with associated general of course) to fill 4 boxes in 6 branches of FS. Taking these numbers into account, if I were to spend 4 hours a day finding and killing things near my level, it would take me just under 2 years of killing things for 4 hours every single day to get my 6 branches. That is not considering the village quests and all that stuff. Of course some of you may be able to find better spots with more NPCs around your level that don't mob you, lol. The fact remains, I went from being able to get approx. 340K xp/hour to getting 40K xp/hour, the FS requirements need to be adjusted. I assume that originally these super high xp requirements were put in place to account for the flaws in the old system (not saying I like the new system, I don't, but you know what I mean.) To tell you the truth, I find it even more boring walking around searching for small enough spawns of greater than level 75 NPC/creatures than just grinding on anything I come across, it is unlikely I will continue with the FS branches even if the xp requirements are adjusted. I suppose the solution would be to drop a lot of my combat so as to bring me down to a combat level equal to most creatures in common areas, but I don't really feel that makes much sense, since I would be more vulnerable (and more likely to be killed) even going to the village or trying to complete the village quests. Grouping is all well and good but forced grouping is not, in my opinion. I feel that grouping should be an advantage, not a necessity. Just my personal opinion, not telling anyone how it should be or anything.

Time consuming yes, impossible no. Get into some groups and you can rack in some awesome xp. They also raised the caps on most xp types so you won't need to make as many of the annoying trips to the village. I'd cap every damn xp type you can and then make the trek. It's different from the old system yes, but not impossible and certainly won't take you years for 3 boxes unless you're soloing chubas. I also have little faith that some of the xp/CL issues will be tweaked over the next several days/weeks...just remember this isn't the finished product.

Just wait till you get you jedi. None of us are gettin more than 1 exp per kill at the moment. Robes are decaying, Force cost is ridiculous the BH's are cloning likeits the clone wars. My friend logged in and found a BH w/ friends on his doorstep within 3 minutes. Hadnt even finished his respec or setting up his toolbar. I grinded for a long time to get mine and prob wont log him in for a while till this whole exp thing is fixed. I feel for you guys.

FS grinding hasnt gotten harder.. Just the combat xp grinding..

But, many has done it this way before the CU, and it isnt any worse post cu..

In a group, you still get the usual 5k xp per kill, and most things are killed in a matter of seconds now..

The CU is good in action.. Atleast those hours Ive played between rollbacks..

1- the only people who ground 32 professions were the unlukiest of all bastards who didnt hit his last secret til last and some of those professions are mastered in hours afk.

2-the next time someone answers any xp question with the word "Group" in it. Please refer to the origional description of this product. I assure you it went out of it's way to stress that a casual nongrouping gamer can enjoy it. ... that was SWG1 , but I didnt get the official "this game is actually only enjoyable if grouped" message from SOEon SWG2 this time.

/Rant on: I mean grouping bounty hunters?? . ... those guys on the walkway with Bobain that famous scene will get into different ships andgo differernt places and 1 by 1 looked solo for their prey who's name was what ... let me think oh yeah HAN SOLO .. SOLO <----... ITS BOUNTY HUNTING .... Is this Star Wars name on the game just generic or is it in some way representative of the movies?

You playing for free my friend ? Most Companies don't Charge for BETA ... and some pay for it.

So, just out of curiousity, do you think if enough of us got together we could takeover the SOE HQ and give the code to a company who knows that the customers are the lifeblood of a game?
