ekul is right, there is nothing difficult.

you sit on your butt, and click buttons. it may become annoying, and repetitive, as he said, but it is not difficult. people whine about grinding being difficult. how so? unless you cant overcome somthing, wheter i be a trial, or quest, or somthing of that nature, it isnt difficult. anyone can be a jedi, ANYONE, if they would put forth he time. whether or not the changes to this systemwas for grenade exploiting, or to keep the number of jedi down, it doesnt matter, its still easily accesible. jus takes time, thats all.

i myself am in the jedi grind, and i cant complain, i consider myself lucky to be playing why jedi is still accesible, who knows, before long they may just turn it off.

But weres the fun in it. You go to work sit on your butt and press buttons it becomes annoying and repetitive then you come home and play on a game were you...... sit on your butt and press buttons which also becomes annoying and repetitve, the whole idea of games is that there is fun in them. Dont get me wrong difficult also means fun but simply 'go to dant, look for group, hunt for hours' isnt fun

the fun is the reward you get for the grind. why do we grind professions, to be able to play them, because you think it would be fun. granted various obstacles get in the way of fun, exploits, soe, nerfs, glitches, etc.

not many like grinding, everyone just wants to get the grind over with and be their chosen profession, people are too impatient to grind, hey want it, they want it now. thats why e-bay accounts sell.

i will pipe in too i posted this on another thread also but you going to get the alpha class character of the game. SOE isnt going to make this fun for you to obtain this character. There going to Annoy the crap out of you until you either complete it or you quit. that where the jedi population is controled. thats why the xp change due to the fact that it is easier after CU to grind this out. ive been playing for two years and i got all my boxes after CU. I also started off the CU needing to master two professions also. the grind now is alot easier then pre cu. Oh and heres how i did it solo. go to restuss and out of the space porthead to the east exit there is a mission term there take creaturemissions 600 to 800 meters away and you will be surprised how fast the xp and the cash comes in. By the way i too am a casual gammer and work 12 hours a day.

I know coming from a jedi this is going to be crap but w/e i will voice my opion....i thought what u were thinking at first but then i remebered......the ones b4 me had to find holo's and grind those proffs and then find a mystery proffesion and then the ones b4 them were totally random...i admit i naded my way thru 2 FS branches......even w/ the harder conversation rate its still easier than what old skool jedi went thru.....just my 2 cents...

Using nade isn't an exploit. If it was, they'd make is so you get heavy weapon xp...as far as I know, nades still give combat xp.

If you can't handle the FS grind, then jedi is NOT for you. As far as not wanting to grind, you have a lvl 80 toon, right? I have one too...and you see, he is not jedi. I still have fun on him. I have another toon, who is a jedi...who I'm grinding. It doesn't bother me to grind b/c I know in the end I'll have something good. However, no one is forcing you to become a jedi and by no means do you have to have one to have fun. So far I've been grinding my jedi for 4 days...from 10pm-5am in a spin group. I'm getting like 300k xp per hour...most people not in spin groups are getting ~50k xp per hour. I have a whopping 11 skills. So, I'm grinding pretty fast, yet I'm still not that far. I think it's better than the FS grind but that's only b/c I don't have to run to the village. If you don't like sitting there killing bols, you need to find something else in the game to do...b/c jedi is a LONG grind...

I'm still uncertain on how to take it..when the glowing with the force came out I had done 22 professions and only unlocked 3 lines. I now have 5 unlocked and working towards the 6th line but have yet to really grind out any of the xp for the lines I have opened up. Doesn't seem that bad but at the same time it doesn't seem that easy either.

The force is with me and I am strong with the force....I've heard the stories, I've seen them in action..they think killing those weaker makes them stronger, find me cause I'll prove you wrong....

The title is why the 30:1 was implemented. So all those that came along Post-CU were treated to an XP bonanza compared to Pre-CU. Lets move along to another subject please.

Been playing since launch, not a jedi yet, am a casual gamer. Started FS Xp grind when CU hit and now I am almost done. Mind you, I have two very young kids a 9-5 job so the casual gamer could get jedi very quickly compared to Pre-CU time frame.

This change is necessary and healthy for the game even though I disagreed with at first.

Nope, it was a quick fix for the nade exploters.

I never used nades and still it will have taken me 6 months to get. Thats too quick for a casual gamer. Jedi is supposed to be for the dedicated. It should be difficult.

So,

difficult = Mind numbingly boring and repetitive ?

or

difficult = time consuming ?

Sorry, have to disagree with you there. Difficult should have been quest based, something to do with content, as it stands right now, SOE did'nt do a THING to make the grind more difficult, they just made it more mind numbingly boring, and time consuming, pushing it off further for people, while getting some extra $$$ for themselves.

They easily could have added a couple of phases to the village, had folks fill their trees via quests. Think Avatar Platform, elaborate types of quests that are engaging, and require grouping to complete. Novel concept huh ? Let people work on some stages solo, and really drive them into a group to achieve some of the harder aspects. You know...MMORPG kind of thing ? Would allow people who do that sort of thing to enjoy the content, feel like that achieved something, not give any advantage to the power gamer, and let the casual gamer also achieve. For a system like that, I know I certainly would have waited thru an extra couple of months, because very simply, it would have been FUN.

Personally, I dont see anything fun about grouping on Dantooine to kill bol's daily. If I grind 2 times a week to full capacity now, it's going to take me 60 trips to the village, or 30 weeks, and for a friend, 80 trips or 40 weeks. That's a casual gamer, 2 times a week, and hoping to get 2 caps a week. Makes more folk think it's better to play for a couple of months for the other content, and then take their business and $$$, to another MMORPG. Thinking about it, by making Jedi for more power gamers, six months from now, I'd wager that a higher percentage of the smaller population will end up as jedi, why ? Simple, many of the casual gamers will leave for something else, and the power gamers will remain...

For me, if it were to take 4-6 months to achieve padawan, that'd be nice, the real challenge should be from going from paddy to the top of the jedi tree. Make that a challenge, revisit the BH vs. Jedi relationship, and make it really worth something. If they want to keep folks playing, make that the real challenge, and time sink.

I just have to pipe in here. The grind of a Jedi is hard and long meant to be or u won't appreciate it if they just gave it to....or u just buy it off of Ebay. The true grinder knows how to level. No Cheats No exploits just good ol' power grinding. The xp is not easy to get if u are on a dying server cause the groups might be harder to get it to a reality. But if u are On a Heavy or Medium server where u can find a group at any hour then for sure I don't want to hear all the whining.....I just have to say that I would like to help those on Dying servers or less populated servers and do some merging. I had 114 hidden friends on my list Friday Night at like 10pm CST I must be slipping or my friends are just leaving the game or doing like I did and start over on Bria where in 7days I made a 80 toon. In 7days and that is with me working a 50hr work week and in bed by 10pm...Did i mention I am already getting friendly with the force....

Grinding is just me though and I hear those complain about it. I do look for an easier to get xp or make it easier....Double XP sure was a help....but with the server decline how well will i do when it comes to getting out there and joining a jedi leveling group. But with that said I vote for server merge. Grinding those FS boxes would be so much more easier and u can see ur young Jedi initiate to young Jedi padawan grow into a great Jedi Knight

For instance Matrix Online bought by SOE merged like 14servers to 7servers something like that....so I know it can be done...Or just let me take my jedi and fs toon to another galaxy I'll pay...I just I'd pipe that in....

I think I've said enough.

Andros Sin FS toon

Jherick Silva Jedi Knight

-AchillieS-Bria soon to be FS TOON and Jeti...lol
