So yesterday around 10 am est, i go and do the first part of the quest. Today at 12 est, approx 26 hours later, it still says to comeback tomorrow? Only thing i can think of is when it says tmorrow, it means after next restart, and thus, we are screwed!

Tomorrow isn't actually tomorrow as in 24 hours.
When the servers were still going offline every day I also had to wait more than 24 hours, just wait 36 or maybe 48 hours and you'll complete the missions without any problem.
No worries, you will succeed.

Sorry, I hate to disagree, but it is exactly 24 hours... my guildmate did the second part of this phase exactly 24hrs and 5 minutes after he completed his first part yesterday.
It's definately time based, not linked to server down time.

Then he was lucky, cause I went there after 24 hours and couldn't do it, 29 hours after also not, but it was about 32 hours.

Lucks got nothing to do with it, it's a programme, designed to follow preset parameters.
24 hrs after first part of quest, +5 hrs server downtime (for example) = 29hrs.. that may have been the issue for you.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to be so flippant or aggresive towards me.. neither of my posts were inflammatory, just stating for the record what my guild mate did and that SWG is a computer program based on preset parameters, like all games...
Luck has no part as all actions have a reaction and a preset result based on player interaction.
I'm sorry you feel the need to be so aggressive

First you say it's not linked to server downtime, then you say it is.
And I personally wouldn't believe it is time-based cause nothing is in relation to force sensitive stuff.
Phases don't last exactly 3 weeks, the old man doesn't come after exactly 12 hours, or 24 hours whatever.
You're the one who instantly jumped on me.
I told the guy he didn't have to worry, that he will succeed and I give him a very good, clear and accurate explanation.
You, my friend, on the other hand did not.

*sigh*
Village is on a timer that is exact and to the second as posted by the devs months ago (right back in the original phase one), which is exactly 21days (or 3 weeks)...
Faction bases vulnerability times are time based, I never said the old man was time based, he seems to be based on random actions or may just be on a simple timer where player A gets a visit, then player B 15minutes later in the order of unlocking, but this has been discussed elsewhere and is not the subject of this thread.
To reiterate, theshifts are NOT related to server down times... BUT... the amount of time a server is down WILL delay the phase cycle by that exact amount of time, including server "loading" periods.
For example..
Precisely 48hrs in to Phase 2, the server goes down.. the Village clock is paused, 5hrs pass because maybe the server has a major issue... so when the server comes back up the clock starts ticking again.
48hrs + 5hr downtime = 53hrs.. hence the sticky at the top giving estimated Phase change (and it's been 90% accurate so far) times.
The clock IS specific, but doesn't factor in server times.
Quests in the village such as the Melee Speed Quest are also time based to exactly 24hrs.. so:
You complete part one at exactly 0:00.. (midnight) 12hrs later the server goes down for exactly one hour. You come back at midnight the following night to start the second part, but can't.. because you have to factor in the hour the server was down.. so at 1:00am precisely Whip will give you the mission again.
I'm sorry to put it in basic terms and if you think I was "jumping on you" then you are clearly very paranoid and need to stop worrying or getting defensive, it's not good for your stress levels.
If you get so irate at a mere post that wasn't even inflammatory in any way or form, then god knows how you're going to react when/if you get killed by a Bounty Hunter for the first time.
Whether your believe the above or not is down to you, I'm just presenting the facts as they are, as per the stickies, and as per the game mechanics I have experience and confirmed by the devs themselves.
P.S: oh, and yes, this post could be classed as a flame in itself, it seems the only way you can communicate.
Happy Christmas

Wrong. It is exectly 24 hours timer of time when server is ON.
It was server restartlast night. So it adds several hoursto 24 hours.

Sorry, but there is so much disinformationflying around here and a lot of people try and pass of duff information as true and so forth, I rarely get involved in pointless arguments but this time around I'm standingby my point.
If what you're saying is true, try this. Our serverreset 6 times in the last 3 weeks alone and by your calculation we would say 21 days +6 (due to restarting the 24hr timer), which means it should have shifted on the 24th notthe 22nd (which is when it did shifted - on Infinity at least)..
The sticky above clearly states 21days plus average server down time in the previous three week period and the forecast for each server was correct in almost every instance.
Due to the server down time last night and the resultant 30minutes loading period, my guild mate did his at exactly 24hrs and 5minutes (game hours) from the point he completed the previous day, which was at 2:00pm in the afternoon.. if by what you are saying is correct, the Infinity server went down at 4:00am GMT, which means he couldn't have spoken to Whip until 4:00am (exactly 24hrs after server up) the following day.. yet he did it 8hrs after the server came up.
If you can't see it for how it is then I'm sorry, I won't return to this thread because some people clearly don't want to see how things work or they make their own assumptions and swear blind they are right without clear research, which is something that the majority of FS players have done and the resultant "forecast" sticky above.
EDIT: I noticed you've edited you post.. now you state the server down time adds time to the 24hrs from the server up time? so you're now saying if it went down at 4:00am my guild mate couldn't possibly have spoken to Whip until 5:00am today (which is in about 3hrs time roughly)... ?
Almost... you got the downtime being added to the clock / pausing the clock issue (unlike the previous poster who still doesn't get it)... but my guild mate has succesfully managed to talk to Whip a mere 8hrs after server came up... not the 24hrs+ thatyou are stating.

>> I'm not sure why you feel the need to be so flippant or aggresive towards me..
The only person who is aggresive here is you.
People here are not programmers and don't care how it is made.
They were told to come tomorrow.
For the most people it means in 24 hours of real time.
It mostly always more.
How much more it is impossible to say with confidence if you can't access the timer.
This is why it is more than 24 hours. I don't care that it is 24 hours for the game timer.
For the person who asked a question I would just recommend to wait a bit and try again.
For you I would recommend to look at the mirror sometimes.
You may find there different person than you expected to see.

I rarely see bickering in game or experience it in group chat. But almost every thread of the forums is run over with it.
Why?
