SOE,

From what I can tell, from my own experience and from reading other threads, the crafting questsare still not what the community expects out of SWG and SOE.Canthe folks responsible for change in this area, please review the number of people that sign this petition, and ifthe numbersare indicative, please comment on the possibility of a redesign to the crafting quests?

Crafters et All,

Please read below sign if you agree. If you have constructive comments or suggestions to further improve the FS crafting, please add them to the thread.

Thanks,

X

---PROBLEMS---

As I see it, there are at leastthree main problems that need to be addressed to make FScrafting unlock quests equitable to other FS unlockingand more enjoyable for the community. I think most of these are realistic and what the crafting community is looking for, if not they will surely post in this thread with other creative ideas.

1.REMOVE CAPS--Although the caps were recently increased for the number of people that can participate per phase, can you remove the caps from the crafting quests altogether.Crafters, as did all players, put in alot time and effort to become force sensitive. Though some crafters with 0 combat skills, had to drop crafting skills to pick up a weapon to just get glowy, due to a lackof an alternate crafingpath to getting glowy...This made it even more difficult for us crafters to get to the village, and meant we had to give up a lot. As a reward for our hard work, some of us got a message from the NPCs controling themissionssayingsomething like, sorry we're full right now, come back in 3 months when this unlock will be available again. This is just wrong and notequitable to other profession unlocks. I am not aware of any other quests having this artificial cap, though correct me if I am wrong.

2. PROVIDE AN ALTERNATEPATH FOR CRAFTERS TO OBTAIN RESOURCES-- Provide a way for us crafters to obtain the required resources usingour own skills. After all,the otherFS treesin the village, for the most part, only require the player to use thier own abilityto open that particular FS skill. They do not require for example, us crafters to make 200 nonstackable, crafter obtainable only items, that can only begain throught trade or sale available tocombat professions to completetheir quest. This creates an environment ripe for 'steal killing' making the game less fun for everyone. One suggestion, you could make it so that crafters are able tosurvey and samplethe special resources required, within the village perimeter only or allow galaxy wide resources to be used instead... There are many possible work arounds to this...

3. RETHINK REWARD SYSTEM-- Provide everyone with a reward for completing the crafting quests. Then if you still want to provide a reward for those that go above and beyond, provide a secondary reward to the top crafters for that phase.

I missed phase2 because they decided that you had to have combat skills to get the hundreds of resources for the village. I searched the entire galaxy, and asked many friends, but I couldn't complete it!

A crafting quest should not be utterly dependent on combat professions to complete. It would be nice if they could give those who do the crafting questsa schematic to make a special survey tool to find and hand sample for theSith resources. Then people could choose to either A) get the resources from combat characters (presumably the 'fast' way to do it) or B) spend the time to sample to get the resources (one at a time, of course--presumably this would be the 'slow' way to do it).

Also, every other method gives some kind of reward to everyone who unlocks. So why not for the crafting quests too?

Anyone else get the feeling that the devs just sort of rushed through the crafting quests, like it was an afterthought?

Im all for the addition of a survey tool for this... no one on my server will give you these resources, only sell for a minimun of 10,000 credits a peice....

the tool could be givin to you by the npc when you get the quest and dissapear when your done... something like that...
