Thread: certain things just shouldnt stack.....

I really dont think certain defenses should stack like pistoleer knockdown resistand fencers resist this will give u 120 defenese against knockdown making tka's have no chance of taking you down.


I heard taht in the combat revamp that ranged proffessions will only stack with other ranged proffessions and meele only with other meele proffessions

Why isnt that right? It caps at 90. They put caps on the defense stacking, you can stil be knocked down.


I have 95 resist to KD and I still can fall.


If you were a better fighter (no offense really) You wouldn't have to rely on kd, haha.. anyways yea. my 2 cents.


Btw, my friend TKM/Rifleman can beat me, and I stack. Take it how you like it.

It's every player's right to stack as many defenses as he wants. They are his skillpoints to spend and swg is built on the premise of "make your character whatever you want".


You're complaining about a tk not being able to kd a fencer/pistoleer? I hope you know that there is a food called Thaktillo which gives you +100 kd defense, which does the same thing. We're sorry that tk's can no long press their unarmedkd2 button and always kd dizzy someone 100% of the time.


All defenses should stack. It's what's called "a personal template". They have already capped counterattack, dodge, block, melee, and ranged defense which was the right thing to do.

If you pay the skill points, why shouldn't you get the benefit?

because gameplay should stay in the human or at least para-human possibilities, and because competence aquired from to widly different profession shouldnt add up because they have the same name.


stacking basic skills like masterbrawler with fencer, makes sense, as Brawler is the basic profession for fencer. Getting an improvement to your swordsman skills because you dabble in pistols ? that makes no sense.

there are no caps for state defenses, i have stacked defenses, my kd defense is 120, but there is still a 10% chance that i will get knocked down, and i do still get kd sometimes

Its pretty sad when the biggest melee game ender is who can KD/dizzy someone down first. TK's get the biggest damage bonus, can target ALL three stat pools, have a light AP weapon, and still get a medium CoB to add to their defense.


If someone has stun layered armor of any kind I'm deadmeat unless I have an acklay gaffi and even then thats still pushing it since its 0 AP. If someone is wearing 80% kinetic a TK can still switch to headhit1 and take them down or have the option of regular attacks which can usually beat its way through the armor.


Know one knows what's really going to happen in the combat revamp although many of us are hoping and burning, praying to, and sacrificing as many religious effigies in the hope that the game will be revitalized.
