Thread: Is a 1h speed +1 worth buying for a fencer?

as far as i was aware when you get master fencer you can use any weapon and the speed comes down to 1 hit per second, also the cap is 1 hit per second. So, if you are master fencer the AA would be useless.when i was grinding the proffesion i had a belt with +5 and gloves with +5 one handed speed, they helped when i was starting but i sold them when i mastered and i havent noticed any difference.

The delay for specials is a multiple rather than an addition:
spinattack2 has the highest delay (I think) at 2.5x
Weapon Speed * Special Delay * (1-(Weapon Speed Mod/100))
A typical Gaffi stick is around 3.5 speed and a master fencer gets +90 1-handed weapon speed
3.5 [gaffi speed] * 2.5 [delay for spinattack2] * (1-(90[master fencer speed mod]/100))
3.5 * 2.5 * (1-(90/100)) = 0.875 rounded up to 1.0
A master fencer will hit the speed cap with any special move using crafted weaponry

At master, you have +90 to speed. (+95 if you have master brawler) With +90 speed, you will swing at the speed cap of 1 with any weapon that has a speed of 4 or less, this is for all specials as well. Since all weapons that a fencer can use have a speed of 4 or less, you don't need to have more than +90 speed. If by some chance you had a slower weapon than 4, then master brawler would take care of it with it's +5 speed addition. Basically, a +1 speed attachment is NOT worth it for a fencer. Speed attachment will only help you while leveling up.
Note: This could all change when the combat rebalance is done. It may be harder to swing at the speed cap then.

I am not sure on this becuase of fencer's alrdy fast attack speed,

speed is good.
more speed is better.
This way you can kill yourself with your specials in the blink of an eye.
