with MBrawler I pick up:
+5 Polearm Accuracy
+5 Polearm Speed
+5 Polearm Toughness
+5 Melee Defense
+5 Ranged Defense
Basically what I would use out of it. Using 34 points just to finish off that tree. This is counting in One-Handed which I took up to go to fencer.
Fencing even only 4-4-3-0 (which is all I can get and keep tracking)
+69 Melee Defense
+69 Ranged Defense
+75 Dodge
+50 Defense vs KD
+50 Defense vs Posture Change
+40 Defense vs Dizzy
+40 Defense vs Blind
+20 Defense vs Intimidation
(this at a rough glance and quick math, sorry if its a little off but its close if not right)
I really dont see how I can take MBrawler over Fencer by just looking at this. Granted I'll swing a little faster, hit a little harder, ect. But I think those massive defense jumps added to pikes will make more of a difference than the three +5's. Unless you meant dropping tracking and most of scout just to get those couple pike skills by mastering Brawler? I use all of my scout tree constantly from the terrain neg, to harvesting, to traps. Granted scout and ranger are almost useless for pvp besides terrain but Im not strictly pvp and I'm 99% sure im keeping MScout and maybe Tracking for the long haul. Sorry if I misunderstood anything. Thanks for the reply though
any opinions help.

Well to answear the question bout the stun. It is a great pvp weapon if you have a good ackly and a decent pve one because you probably have been in the habbit of checking creatures vuls when you where mastering pike and doing scout. Most have no resist to stun and alot of higher ones only a little. So I use the gaffi mostly or the stun ifI will get higher damage output then kinetic.

Master Brawler gives you intimidate2 and lunge2. The first will make sure you land it on your opponent thereby reducing the speed of his/her attacks while the second is a posture down x2 making it a KD and unaffected by chef foods. Currently as a master fencer and pike you only get the first type of these which is often resisted by other melee prof. and high lvl pve creatures.
Terrain nego. is a GREAT skill to have but master scout and ranger are pathetic reasons not to master brawler. Tracking is nice but has limited uses.

Figured It wouldnt hurt to ask well the guys/gals that would know the fence class on their thoughts.
My Template currently looks like this:
Brawler 0-4-0-4
Pikeman 4-4-4-4 M
Scout 4-4-4-4 M
Ranger 0-0-4-0 (tracking)
Fencer 1-0-0-0 (taking to 4-4-3-0)
Anyone know any bad points to this combo? I love pike for pve and even PvP its been a blast. I really dig your defense on fence and thought "Hey why dont I get some of that" not to mention thePvP potential through fence if I get bored with knocking folks over with my pike. I'm sure im not the first to do something similar to this so any good/bad points would be great.
One or two other quick questions. The Stun Baton seems to be a highly respected weapon among you all. Is this purely for the stun dmg inPvP or is a major bonus in PvE? All of the weapons seem to be around the same dmg range. From the Gaderiffi to the Curved Sword (which I currently use at 2.0 94/215 +20 rng) just curious as to what weapons are good for PvE since the SB seems to be the favorite for PvP. Also curious where any one-handers drop on the game on the off chance I might loot one with a higher max dmg and solve the whole question. Also what skill tapes are currently not working for you? As there are a few in the pike line that are duds im sure you have some that arent working either. Basically I suppose any advice you might have would be appreciated. Thanks for taking the time and reading this.

consider mastering Brawler for a pikemanship enhancement, instead of spreading out too much.

Tracking will have plenty of use after all the Jedi changes when people need to kill a particular creature.
The stun baton is a great weapon for PVE as well as PVP. Against many of your low to medium mobs, it is far better then the Gad.

Well Tracking now is helpful but not godly like I suppose some would want out of those points. I use it to track Krayts or Nightsisters or whatever. Beats running around looking blindly. Not saying you couldnt function without it, just that its useful for lazy people like myself
Pike has tons of KD/Posture change/Dizzy attacks. Is Polearm Lunge 2 THAT much better? Hit3 has a posture change and does upwards of 4k dmg of course depending on the individuals armor. Area KD is pretty low % land on stuff like Nightsisters and such but in general usage like Rancors and anything in Dant stuff stays on the ground. Area 2 does dizzy/stun/blind ect with 2-4k dmg. All this is fine by me, its why I keep pike because I find all this immensely useful on PvE and though not the end all be all in PvP im not standing around looking dumb either. I guess what im getting at is that im not trying to be the BEST PvP but I want something to go with my pike skills that will be useful. Fencer seemed to be the best bet besides pistoleer which id have to dump 15pts into novice marks. Thanks again for your thoughts.

People (not you, others) tend to get fixated on damage dealing and such.
There are many "support" skills that are very usefull to have, such as tracking. I wish I had more Ranger friends actually.
Pike is also an awesome weapon. While not the powerhouse in a duel that some may like, it is an awesome support weapon. Having a good pikeman at your side with some good DOT lances can be almsot as good as a Combat Medic. Better in some ways, because the Pikeman keeps him on his back for me.
You may not fear the Pikeman, but you better fear the man with a Pikeman for his friend.
The Fencer defenses should help you a lot.
