Just curious. I'm a Master Doctor and I do like TKA. But, I've done a little PVP lately and find myself on my back a lot from Master Fencers with their wretched defense. Is there such a thing as better than what I currently have? Any opinions on if Fencer is better than TKA in PVP?

In my opinion right now it is. But tka still has a chance. However tka is at a huge disadvantage do to the high resist comp out there. Doc/fencer, doc/tkm both are good templets and if you can remember back before the high kenetic comp came around how well that secondtemplet was. I think after the revamp it will be good again. Right now you have a better chance at being a fencer/doc.

Hi,
I wouldn't go as far as giving up TKM. Fencer is mediocre PvE since there is nothing more than light AP coming from very low damage weapon. Have you tried using MindHit?
If you are switching over because we got stun baton, you might as well work on getting better knuckler. It will be fairly ineffective once stun resistance composites gets distributed. (much like BH's LLC.)
Lastly, if your ONLY combat profession is TKM, you are in disadvantages. MOST of combatant now are cross-classed. For example, I am tripled-classed with TKM, MFencer, and some swordsman. Note you cannot dodge barehanded. You cannot counterattack with vibroblades. ... etc etc. You know the details. However, Defenses stack. So one may have Def-vs-KD well over 80 and unusually high combat equilibrium.
(I didnt do this because I wanna do PvP, I did because I wanted to PvE ... You might want Pikeman more. I never tried.)

Honestly and without bias, Fencer is better then TKA for PVP. A lot better.
Yes many people dabble in TKA for pvp, but not for the offense, for the defenses. Kinetic is just poor in PVP.

stun baton just rocks!
why just not test in and go the profession you like more. max out your unarmed experience first so you can switch back again quick, when you think tkm was cooler.
maybe they will balance armor and weapons, but for the moment STUN is the killer!
BUT! TKA has unarmed combo which goes right through armor and mind hit, fencer doesn't right?
I'm: TKM, Fencer 4300, Doc 0440 - usually use intimidate then my janta mind poision with fencer, blind em, switch to tk and do knockdown, dizzy, stun and then just mind hit. if your opponent has awesome kinetic armor then combo 2, if he has no armor then uh3.
that's just my way i like to do, go and find yours, young padawan

I think Digitalphobia is refering to the Stun state effect, not Stun damage type. If that is the case, yes TKA has Stun and Fencer does not.

Hi,
Yeah. Stun EFFECT not Stun DAMAGE.
As far as I think, our advantage of Stun damage will be NULLIFIED as soon as people start buying real high stun resist armor with PSG. This is what happened with Bounty Hunter's Light Lightning Canon. Everyone has over 50% electric resistance on their composites now; which rendered LLC useless. (Bound to happen with all the people rushing to get their Stun Batons ...)
STUN EFFECT will become really important now that we have dodge-food. I can have 125 Dodge, >100 Melee Def, >100 Range Def, High Def vs KD and Dizzy. You will probably won't land KD let alone dizzy. If you can land Stun which decrease those stats, you might be able to other things.
MentalSpirit's example of his PvP technique is what I am talking about. You have to be clever because your opponent is also clever or learning really fast. I think his tactics is superb and keep his ... PREY ... guessing. By the time, the guessing is over, the prey is getting up at the clone center.

About STUN BATONS,
But don't get me wrong. If you got utterly awesome stun baton on sale, I won't hesitate to drop my life saving.
