Just got Novice Fencer, I am grinding the profession with buffs, Ubese, and brandy and doing Quenker lairs. Which weapon should I use? Go back to Vibroblade? Get the new Stun Baton I am eligible for? or what? Also which line should I go up first?

Footwork first
Then bring up Stances & Grips, and Technique together..
Finesse will take a while, dang combat xp
I find that using a curved sword w/ 1.7 or better speed is best...
But if you find a speed less than 2.1 on stun baton go for it.

oh, 1 more thing...
Do SOLO Groups out of Coronet,
pick the 12-13k Sharnaff missions... and have fun killing them.
Make sure you're buffed and armor up, bring brandy and maybe have musician buff
Until you have Expert footwork, spam hit2
When you get to expert footwork, start using spin2 (area attack)

Use what weapon will do the most damage. Most times you can use the gaffi but having a nice speed sliced stun is good to have in the quickbar as well. When grinding I used both. Which ever did the most damageI switched to that one. You can check a creature for resist before attacking it, if they have a good defence to kenetic you'll want the stun.

sologroup on dantooine to get 30k missions, then use your gaffi and do janta missions.
you can do 2 30k janta missions in 20 mins with spinattack 1, with spinattack 2 in 10 mins. jantas don't have any kinetic resitence. just hit the "lair" to aggro all of them and be buffed. with speed powerups you will get a gaffi around these stats 170-290, 2.9 speed for 60k with no problem.
so with a 3hour buff you will get (depends always on your equipment and if you use spin 1 or 2):
- 540k to 1'200k credits
- 405'000 to 1'000'000 fencer exp points
- 41'000 to 100'000 combat experience
for sure it's not the fastet but in my eyes the worthiest way to go towards master fencer.

The thing I have found, is that a lot of things are vunerable to stun and as I have been too lazy to get my gad baton sliced its awfully slow (3.5). I have a speed sliced curved sword (1.5 w/pu), but I find myself constantly changing back to the stun baton. It just seems to me to do better.

Don't know if your template would be able to get you here but the last few days of grinding fencer i've gone to the geo caves. If there are enough people there you can do one of two things. Either stay on top for the crazed Geonosians spawn or you can venture down to the mercenary room. Last night in about 2 hours I got about 1.5 million xp from merc's. They are vuln to stun so a decent stun baton and a spin attack will cut through them very easily. Only problem is if there aren't enough people in the cave that the spawns can be slow. But so is running back and forth to missions/terminals. Plus you get a chance for loot

Examine your target and check the Res. Most mobs (and players hehe) are vuln to Stun Damage. I keep a Gaffi, as Curved Sword, and my Beat'n Stick in my toolrbar. My sword is the fastest, my gaffi is the strongest, and my baton is the vuln equalizer. Sometimes I will change them up several times during a fight depending on my HAM status.
I really enjoy leveling at the Tusken Fort.

Gaffi is the fencer PVE bread and butter. Gaffi will almost alwaysoutdamage other fencer weapons due to its higher raw damage. Unfortunately, if you sit down and do the match, a standard WS crafted gaffi will always outdamage a standard WS crafted vibroblade with its AP1. And, a standard gaffi's power will usually warrant using it over a stun baton unless a MOB has very high resist differential between kinetic and stun.
Exceptions to the rule are curved swords made with very high powered rancor teeth, vibroblades with NS vibromotors, and stun batons made with acklay bones.

Use the gaffi mostly and have a Stun baton as backup. There are faster weapons or ones that do about the same damage but the mind cost for specials on the gaffi is the lowest. So while your spammng your specials you wont be as worried about sucking your brain dry if your the composite and only composite type. At master I find myself always holding a crowbar, keeping a stun baton for special ocasions looking for a decent vibroblade and having forgotten about the ryk and curved sword.
PS. It took me a Month to master Fencer (andI play almost daily)so my advice may be useless.

it took me 13 hours to master fencer (including training, and from novice bralwer..):
use a speed sliced gaffi at novice fencer till footwork 3
then use a dmg sliced gaffi and spin 2.
I leveled on quenkers (normal ones) all the time, and did spin attack on the lair while being in a solo group.
the reason for the solo group is that with a group of more then 12 people you get double the amount of quenkers a lair (although it can take some time to find a quenker mission with the high group lvl, its worth it).
