Thread: Looking for an opinions on an Exceptional Acklay bone.

I was able to aquire an exceptional acklay bone the other day for a pretty amazing price. Stats are 208 min 372 max. Now for most the obvious answer would be to run out and get a Stun Baton made, hope for a good slice and be the proud new owner of a nasty 500+ damage stun baton. Here is the thing though for me Im not to into PVP (I know in most peoples mind fencer = pvp not pve but guess what some people just go with a profession they like) so I'm wondering if that would be the best choice.
Here are my thoughts that im rolling around.
1. Make the baton and maybe get more involved in PVP (wouldnt a Stun baton like that just draw me in?)or just have a sweet PVE baton (I know to many thats a sin)
2. Make a Gaffi (700max damamge gaffi anyone) and use it in my PVE events.
3. Sell the bone for a profit to soemone who will putt it to a more widely accepted use (heavy PVPer type)
I honestly thinkits a toss up between one and two, I'm a doctor with an elite professionI have enough regualr customers to craft buffs and sell to cover cahs and i can make iver a mil in a buff session with a solo group on dant, so how important is thecreds.. I guess in mostly wondering from the experienced Fencers point of view would aMOSTLY PVE type benefit more from the baton or the Gaffi.
If I wasnt dumb Id have bought both whenI had the chance and just made one of each. Ahh hindsite

I would go Stun Baton, it's good for PVE as well as PVP.
Honestly though, that would be to good to use for anything but really tough places. You don't want to wear out a baton like that.

If it were me, and I made that thing into a gaffi, I'd use it way too much and it'd be gone in a month. I've already almost used up my curved sword made with +150 rancor teeth that I was going to save for only special occasions...seems every time I walk into the geno cave I equip that thing and it's equippedalmost all the time all the way till acklay. If you made a baton out of it, you'd be a badass PVPing, mostly-PVE guy. Not a bad way to go I'd say. Be feared even though you don'tPVP much. 
Or, take the cash, buy yourself a sweet different toy, and live it up. Exceptional bones should go for a massive amount of money.

No advice, just a suggestion. Get the bone made up into a stun baton and get it sliced. If you score lucky and get a damage slice, the weapon would easily fetch 20 million. If you geta bad slice, you will still have an awesome weapon for both PvE and PvP. Nice find BTW.

Hey its your item to do what you like with, and you should do whatever you feel will be the most fun. In my mind using such an incredible find for killing gorgs and such (non-ap weapons really suck for pve) is an incredible waste in the mind of someone like me (I'm a pvp person with a dedicated pve alt, who is certainly not a fencer because fencer damage is a joke in pve vs armored opponents). Do what will bring you the most joy with it.

If you use that weapon all the time in PvE, it will eventually break. You would use it far less in PvP.
A gadeffei of that strength would be ok, but again, it would eventually break.
I would either make a baton and get into PvP, or sell it to someone who would use it in PvP (prefferrably not some l33t guy that just wants to pwn everyone and gloat like an ass)

Pick up swordsman and make one sick powerhammer, cuz that you'll be using in pvp for sure (ns elders for example, that would be a crazy crazy weapon)

Abstract,
I actually considered that for a bit, I have seeveral nice Swordsman weapons on display inmy house and i was considering going swords for a while just to speed up RIS armor hunting, but the thing is I want to be a Fencer. Even if i did swords I know Id go back to Fencer (Id have to drop Doc to do both). We may not be the best in PVP but were not slouches, I do just fine on my own andI actually enjoy group hunting, doesn't anyone remember how fun it was the first time you and your frineds grouped up and managed to take out a Squill lair, no buffs no composite? I digress
But yeah that crossed my mind also

During the combar revamp there will be changes to alot of things including armour, this should make it so that stun damage is not so important. Personally if you prefer PvE then you should put it into whatever weapon you want, fencers need all the help they can get against high end mobs.

IMO, use the bone to make an exceptional Gaf stick. After the Jedi revamp, Jedi are no longer able to wear armor. Use this stick to go hunt overt Jedi. There robe is a joke lol. Even with my Gaf (300-485), I was doing good damage against them. The stun bat is worthless because that is no longer the weakest part of their defense and has lower overall stats.
But if you just want to PvP with non-Jedi, stun bat is pretty good. Just keep in mind even though the bat might have some uber stats, Imp PSG, Stun armor, S. Steak, Mele Mitigation, 75% PvP reduction, and toughness will make the bat fodder. I know because I've seen a guy with a 500+ bat rendered useless. I've never seen anyone soupset because they thought they should win with an uber weapon lol.
If you want to PvE its really hard with Fencer since its ap0 weapons. I hunted Nightsisters with my Gaf mentioned above, I did ok until I encounteredone with Heavy armor then I was doing no damage. Stun bat is even worse.
I say right now, Swordsman would be the best bet. You will do great in PvP and PvE, players with enhanced powerhamers are deadly on my server. However I don't know whats going to happen in a few months with the combat rebalance. Maybe when armor is nerfed down, that gaf stick will be looking pretty good lol. Of course they will probably nerf your weapon as well

I ended up having a sweet Stun Baton made stats are 3.1 spd min 321-max 578 with a 25% slice w a power up were well over 650.
I took the baton out with me to the Geo caves to test it out and it was impressive but something about slamming into the head of droidekas just felt wrong (but damn do they die fast that way). So with about an hour left on my buff I headed for Coronet to look for a possible duel, when I got there i realized that i had no desire to duel the people that were there nothing against the d00ds for enjoying the game the way they want to but thats just not the type of person im gonna duel. Headed to theed and saw allot of the same thing. Finaly caught a quick duel with another fencer while I was looking for a certain shop that i know sells geo loot (looking for cubes). I won and it was cool but in the end I really didnt care that much.
Anyway im selling the baton and wishing I made a Gaffi since it would suit my play style, or a Power Hammer as I think I will give Swordsman a try sometimebefore the revamp than ill come back to Fencer. (Im maxed on AP might as well give it a spin.)
