Not a master yet but footwork is very important.
Footwork, in total, gives you +55 1h attack speed (correct me if I am wrong). The first level gives you +5, while the second gives you +25. That boosts your DPS (damage per second) dramatically. You can wield slower Ryyk swords and still use it like a curved sword. OR You can swing a curved sword like a mad man.
Footwork also gives you health hit 1 and 2 which bleeds your opponent. Spin attack2 is also valuable to your attack.
Anyone know what exactly does scatter hit do? Is it good?

Footwork or Stances. They both have thir good points. Footwork will give you health hit, which has a bleed effect also, you also get +5 to weapon speed which will allow more hits, thus more damge and XP. While Stances gets you Scatter Hit1, and Melee and ranged Defense bonuses. When it was my turn to choose, I too Footwork for the speed and Healthhit. Im working on my 3rd tier of it now.
