Hi guys. I currently have a mid-level Wookiee Pikeman/CH on Chilastra. I've been thinking about making my character the traditional Rifleman/Fencer character for the bowcaster and Ryyk Blade. I'm just curious what the overall attitude is for this profession, and if you think it's a good idea to loose all that hard fought for xp!! Thanks.

Well its always tough to give up xp, but if you have the time go for it.

I love fencer and think we have a geat community going here and always glad to see more fencers joining the ranks.

Fencers are great as long as you don't mind being the worst at combat and dying a lot. Unlike TKA, we don't whine 24/7 about how gimped we are, but instead revel in it. Its fun to actually play the game it was ment to and BARELY kill whites and yellows.

Fencer is not for the powergamer, but someone who actually wants to experiance SWG.

Go for it! I have fencer/pistoleer and find it hard to train my pistol skills because my sword kills so much faster. Just keep some ranged weapon skills for PvP in case your target starts to run.

I currently am a rifleman/fencer and the combo works great.

I have to agree with Ganjookie, i Don't die all that much, and as long as you have a nice low HAM weapon, red's are easy.(humanoid)

Fencer is IMO the funest profession around, and ATM i have rifle spec, and it is alot of fun, the damage dosent match up, but it is still something that is enjoyable.

Ranged weapon user specials = bang, bang, bang

Fencer specials = Fancy, elegant, stylish, and sometimes just plain cool. They're ALL different, and even your normal attack strokes are different. You even sometimes do nifty things like spin your blade, or toss your sword from hand to hand.

That difference alone, IMO, makes it worth it. It makes combat so much more enjoyable to watch.

you can also say it this way if you where a gun fan/

fencer: slash slash slash

gunfighter: more moves, less damages taken, more weapons to choose from, no need to get in the mobs face.

Just playing the devils side.

I agree with DarthGanjookie, I rarely die. I died last night and my fellow pa members were astonished that I was actually slain. We were taking out a lair surrounded by reds and I'm always in the targets face. As for saying that we can barely kill whites, I have found no problem with that. I have several screenies of the amount of damage I do. No, I will not post it here due to fear of the nerf bat. But if anyone would like to see them, let me know.

No, I'm not weilding a vibroblade to save on ham. I use a Ryyk blade and it's an avg Ryyk 69-171 dmg 2.0 speed (with the speed being sliced from 2.6). I am very satisfied on the pvm part. It's the pvp part that bugs me. But, I accept what my character is capable of. Knowing his strong points and weak points. And if you care to ask, I wear no armor. I have a set of composite thats collecting dust in my house. If anyone wants to buy it at a discounted price (worn 2 times at the most), send me a /tell on the Lowca server.

I have to agree with DarthGanjookie and others - I just don't die very often.

And believe me, I stay in the thick of it. My primary group will often ask me to put away my sword and go pistols for a while just so they can get some exp.

I even tank quite often. I just slam some Muon Gold and a Tatooine Sunburn, then I slap on a old suit of Chitin (it's 29% reist to kinetic, fyi), and go nuts. against groups of humanoids, I simply shred them. FYI - with the Sunburn, my Str and Stam are 2100. The Muon Gold puts me at 1200 Mind and 1100 focus.

I've tanked about to 4 red mobs while the rest of the group shoots them. I'm a pistoleer too, so my tactivs might not apply to all. TypicallyI pistol whip each mob, then stack all my bleeds on each one (2 bleeds from pistol, 1 fencing). Then I just tank away, pistol whiping them if they hit me to much.

I have some really great Stim B's (like 300+ heals), and the Muon Gold keeps my Focus at 1100, so I regen mind like crazy.

The last time I can remember getting DB'd was about 1 week ago when I just wanted a quick ride back to town.
