Thread: Which vibroblade would you use?
Okay, I'm a weaponsmith, and I'd like input on where I should 'position' my vibroblades on the damage/HAM continuum.
I'm not a master weaponsmith or anything, so there's no need to tell me you have a better weapon. Just imagine you're in a situation where you don't have a vibro,a nd you don't have the huge wads of cash that most master WS weapons cost ![]()
Option 1: higest damage/speed
dmg: 29-122, speed: 2.8, HAM: 16/28/16
Option 2: medium
dmg: 28-96, speed: 3.4, HAM: 11/21/11
Option 3: low HAM
dmg: 19-86, speed: 3.8, HAM: 8/18/9
And when you say which you like, please let me know if it's to use as a primary damage-dealing weapon, or as a weapon just for special moves.
I would say the first one.
It has the best damage, and very little extra HAM costs. The damage/speed more than make up for the SLIGHTLY increased costs.

So, I remember another thread in which a couple of fencers said that avibroblade with emphasis on low HAMwould be appealing to them for use as a "sidearm" for special moved.
From the response so far, I would have to say those people were lying. ![]()

I think I might have been one of those people.
At the time, my vibroblade was not up to par with my Curved Sword on damage. But now I have a great vibro with low HAM, and I use it almost exclusively when fighting humanoids.
The message is still the same. Use a low HAM weapon with the highest DPS possible when you need to spam you specials (humanoids). And use the highest DPS weapon you have when you're armored up and fighting animals.
And to stay on topic - I'd pick blade #1. The HAM cost is not that different, and the DPS is much better.
