I've got a quick question for you all. I have a friend that recently took up a curved blade for up close fighting. When he's using a pistol or rifle, they barely touch his mind pool. But as soon as he starts using his Curved Blade, his mind pool is virtually emptied in no time flat.

Is this typical of Curved Blades? What kind of Mind Pool should he be at when he's using this kind of blade?

If he's spamming specisl witha Curved and he doesn't have good stats, he deserves to die. This goes doubly if he'sa medic and attempts to heal himself mid-combat. With my Curved, because my mind pool basically decides whether I win or lose the fight, I don't spam specials. Maybe throw in a Hit2 or a BH2 here and there, but no spam. If I need to really put on serious status effects, I switch back to the vibro.

I have about 800 mind and 405 focus or so, and with my curved blade, I spam specials depending on the situation. Usually 1hand spin attack1 since im only novice fencer. But my mind pool lasts perty long... In duels i use 1hand hit 2 spamin after lung/dizzy with my vibro. But I always seem to do fine. Only die against mind damage if i get hit in the head by a kimo or duelin a BH or Rifleman...

I get around the mind pool problem by having it maxed then using enhancement packs for the other two stats. Then I craft melee kits that specifically reduce the mind penalties for my curved blade. Since I have Eng IV, I can get some decent numbers for that plus a few side benefits like increased speed and damage.
