The AoE thing comes from the combat diagram where under fencer it says DoT/Area

Having been a MBrawler/MFencer/TKM with Nov Medic & Nov Scout (I amthe mainguild tank) for about 8 months and not having played a great deal since the CU, I would like to ask a couple of questions about fencer and get your views on the fencer skills since the CU.

Looking at the Combat Profession Evaluationfor the CU a fencer's roleis supposed to be able to area attack and deal DoT attacks and is more a damage dealer and crowd controller.

The only DoT I can find is a bleed attack which is quite frankly useless, the amount of time it would take for the bleed attack and the damage over time to deal as much damage as a stronger attack the creature would long be dead or the opponent healed. More likely the bleed would run out before it actually did enough damage to equal a more powerful attack which frankly seems pointless to me...

And as for the area attack, well I can't actually find one...anyone able to enlighten me on this, I am hoping I am just not seeing right?

Another thing (unrelated to fencer) is A TKM is supposedly considered a tank, but why can't they warcry anymore, what I would consider a tank skill but I digress and asking in the wrong place...

I am starting now to get my head around the CU and starting to enjoy combat again and am looking to play more regularly once again, but before my last respec hits I would like your opinions on the above and views on perhaps whether I should drop fencer for pikes to enable to continue toperform my tanking duties to the best effect...

I have alwaysloved fencer(it was my first combat professionmaster)and am pleased as punch thatwe have finally got some worthy weapons that actually have a blade, but am coming to the conclusion that to be an effective tank I should be looking at taking pikeman instead... (I am not really interested in ranged professions) but don't think I have the heart to drop fencer as I love it so much - my 2 niggles aside of course.

I look forward to my fellow fencers views, thanks for listening

fencer is not a tanking profession grab tkm or mpike for that along with fencer, sadlly at the momnet we only have one DOT that doesn't work verywell, not sure on a timetable for a fix for this, we have no AOE attack, and I don't remember reading that we should, trying reading fencer top 5 issues for all the probs we have. With all the new weapons we have like 3 viable blades along with the stun baton for fencer that do good dmg.
