Hi there,

Don't laugh, please.

The problem in background was the following:
Yesterday I was running around as special forces rebel warrior in Coronet on my server (Infinity). I am only master fencer, swordsman 0022, master dancer (plus reqs), but on my server it is still relatively save to do that since the alliance controlls Corellia 229:0.
I had a full armor on and my best (and currently only) equipped. Being wary if any red dots in purple corono were near I went into the starport peacfully and unharmed, though seriously lagging. I opened the starship terminal, opened the travel dialogue and a dark jedi uncloaded. Wasn't even aware what happened at first, thought some combatant jedi made of fun of killing some kind of NPC as they use to.
Anyway, the actual problem is that until I was able to defend myself I had to close two interfaces, lag my sight around and target the jedi and do knockdown recover. All without anything except my armor to defend myself and I also made the mistake of switching the keyboard most, which can cost up to two second freezing in a laggy environment on my machine.
Well, before I could do anything I was rid of 2/3 of my original health. I could score a few hits, knocked her down, did a blind attack and sword flurry for some defense but nothing that would have caused the jedi really to think about. This happened twice in a row, since I did know how the jedi appeared directly behind me, since my userinterface was covered by the starship terminal interface at that point. The second time she even waited until I had my factional pet stored and had only to click the "travel" button to travel to Daeric.

Now I am not looking for a way to actually defeat a dark jedi being, the point is only if I have to perish, I wanna perish with displayed colors.

So I wanna set up a macro that leaves after 2 or three seconds with all the defenses I can possibly have against a jedi up. And I need a little help to do that.
The base assumtion is, that an overwhelming enemy suddenly appears next to me while I already have my armor and weapon equipped, but no further defenses active.

Things I thought I may put into the macro:

  • Cancel up three current user interfaces windows if possible.

  • CenterOfBeing

  • Equip or activete several items:

    • PSG

    • Food or drink for action regen

    • Food or drink for defense

  • Try to call my combat droid (very unlikely this will work; would only in the open within a city when the enemy has not yet attacked me) but maybe worth a try) and order it to guard me

  • First unselect the current target, then target the last enemy who attacked me

  • Cancel all states I can cancel on me (timing should assume the enemy was only able to put one state on me)

  • A lunge attack

  • Throw a pillow at the enemy

Now I need a little advise with timing and the food I should use. This all should not take too long and if nescessary it must be shortened - once I am home today I'll start working on drafts.
And I have the problem that I don't know which timing rules apply for equipment now after cu. They do not count as special attacks with wind up and cool down it seems, but they sure take time, don't they?

The macro has two purposes:
Putting me in a defined state that makes me actually able to fight.
Giving me a two second breather to be able to aquire the situation.

It has the nice side effect that I could organize my equipment somewhere off my toolbat and use the knowledge from writing this macro in further aliases simplyfying my controlls and reducing it to the nescessary.

dont u want the macro to bring u a cofee too?

first of all... get a new PC..

no macro will save ur a$$ from the lag, while u r lagged, the macro just stop as much as your screen does, so get more memory first.

then..

i think u have too many requests.. unusefull requests on your macro, like the attacks or the weapon equip.

the only usefull part shuld be the CoB, food, drinks, drugs.

For targeting u need another macro, because u gona use it a lot in the battlefield, sometimes the TAB isnt the best way.

for the foods and CoB, u can put it on a diferent toolbar and just let the macro switch between button and button like

/ui action ToolbarSlot01; where u have the cob action button

/ui action ToolbarSlot02; u canput a drink here

/ui action ToolbarSlot03; or food in this slot

i think it was something like this.. im not at my home right now, but i can check my macros when i get there

the only problem that i see is for creating the old copnstant CoB macro, because u cant use clear combat queue anymore, so i dont know how to make it work, and not bother me while im fighting taking away my next action or something.

and the targeting macro, i have no idea, i want to know too

but i recomend to use diferent macros for all this, will be more usefull for the battlefield.

good luck!

To the coffee: Because they nerfed it. It is good for the stomach and with few coffeein now.

My computer as is is quite alright (Athlon XP 3000+ on an Asus A7N8X-X). Problem is my graphics card is a relic (geForce 3 Ti 200) and my memory, while fast is too small 512MB running on 333 MHz to be in sync with the CPUs base frequency... I tried letting it run on 400MHz but that isn't really helping (in fact my computer is slower then; and this way I can run a way harder timing). Once I have money I will buy a new graphics card and a gig memory. But this will take a while.

Guess I'll have to try some stuff out, though I don't understand what's so bad about equipping a PSG.. I usually do not run around with one, that would soon become quite expensive, but use my padded armor belt.

There is another problem with center though: Doesn't work when you're knocked down. About a constant cob macro: Well, I never used one anyway, I am allergic against recursive macros, being used to be a live entertainer.

About the targetting: I don't know wether it is possible but I could imagine it. It is possible in space. Not unlikely there are some ground commands too... guess I'll ask in the gameguide forums after googleing it for a bit.

Wouldn't be too bad if I had a decent armor too. My current is a pre CU padded that was originally a 78% energy / 49% base one... with abase slice on the breast plate (making it 59%). Now it is a real crappy 3200 armor. My favourite AS said she'd make me an armor around 5800 for one Mcr. Unfortunatley may beloved rl housemates are using up all my line and I cannot effectively do space combat - which is my default way of grinding money and FP. (At least in space I do not have to fear being overt... two shots and the enemy is dead no matter what. And I am not a bad pilot.)

PS: Oh, missed your last point. Well, yes, I do intend using different aliases but trigger the aliases in one row by a macro. If I want just a single alias I can trigger it by calling it name in combat. This way I modularize the parts and can test them one by one, too.

i have the same motherboard than u jeje

as u said u need a better video card and 1 gb of memory.

and my advises were thinking about the big pvp. Thats why u need a diferent macro for every task.

well, good luck with that.
