After reading a lot of the ideas on how to improve fencer one has yet to be mentioned. Since fencer uses one-handed weapons, why not allow us to use our special attacks and abilities on mounted pets. We would become an asset in PvP as the "calvary." Please give me some feedback on this idea,

i think pikeman are better suited for mounted melee, remember the knights who carried lances on top of their horses

heavy cavalry used lances, light used swords so you could have like a limit ie. pikeman could use specials on Bantha's or something as the bantha could support the added weight where a kaadu or something couldn't.

Pikeman traditionally carried pikes which were spears......very very very long spears. Even to them the concept of range > all was apparent. Unfortunately those same pikes were too long and unbalanced for use on a horse. Standard lances were perfectly suited for the job and were devestatingly effective. Unfortunately they were a 1 use item. Once they penetrated something the point and part of the shaft were imbedded to deep to remove or were broken off upon impacting a well made shield. The only other civilization to use polearms on a mount were the chinese and koreans (who stole the idea from the chinese) but even they found polearms more suitable for use off of a chariot and foot.
After the lance was use a mounted warrior would turn to a one handed weapon. These were swords, scimitars, maces, weighted BATONS, flails, and sometimes a bow (only the japanese developed mounted carbines until the 1800's). Being high above the ground made it difficult for a standing person to get the leverage to attack the warrior effectively unless you attacked their legs (which were the most heavily armored part). However, being mounted made it very very easy to swing downwards and smack a foot solider upside the head...and hard. Being smacked on the head very hard by anything is usually NOT a pleasant experience.
Currently you can attack from a mount as a melee or a ranged. Unfortunately you cant use any specials and for good reason. Mounted combat doesn't allow you the agility to accomplish many of the complicated moves we do on the ground. Trust me on this one, on the ground I can manuever, duck, dodge, parry, etc gracefully without worrying about about hitting my horse. Mounted I become a head smacking brute

They don't have to be the same animations. The "smacking a foot soldier upside the head" sounds like exactly the sort of thing that could induce a dizzy or blinded state, or bleeding. Indeed dizzy1 and blind1 are very quick strokes aimed directly at the head.
Intimidate and warcry ought to work too. If anything they would be more effective. Imagine having the mount rear up and growling as you issue the cry!

When I wrote this I was thinking more of a Civil War type of calvary. I relieve most of our attacks would need changing. I just wondered what fencers thought about my idea.
