Thread: I thought fencer was goof for pvp?

Im a master fencer/tka and brawler. I still suck at pvp because I get poison by rifleman/doctor/combat medic people. Am I missing a skill thats vitle here. Im so confused.
what are dots and how do I get them?

You can't do anything against them. Unless you get near them. Hands down. And with the way armor is. Stun Armor + PSG = Dead Fencer. Kinectic Armor = Dead TKM.
Yea.. pray for an unarmored opponent, sorry.

you could get doc and drop tka.

hehe it is if there armor has no stun resist and there not throwin DoT at you.

Yep fencer has virtually no damage output against a person wearing stun armor and a stun psg. I recently dropped fencer and took up swordsman. I had a 734 dmg stun baton and did 50-80 dmg to someone with a stun armor and psg. Sure the defenses are the best in the game but you're not going to kill anyone with defenses.
Maybe if they gave the stun baton ap1 like it used to have then fencers would stand a chance but we know that too many people would whine about that.

When did stun have AP?
I could be mistaken, but I dont ever recall seeing an AP1 Stun baton.
I remember stims healing mind, and I remember un-capped supression fire, and 5k dmg commandos.. but I dont recall ever having an Ap1 stun baton.
A drop?
Ahh, em yeah for Rifleman/cms, stay inside until they get point-blank, then pray for no stun protection.
If not, um, swoops are prety fast..

The stun baton used to have ap1 back in the first few months of the game.

I skipped over what everone else said but...the only defense to cm is to pick up at least 4030 doc to heal your self. (unless you have a really really really really good doc friend who will follow you around like a watch dog)

Hmm, odd, i must have just never noticed stun bat having Ap1 back in the day.
All of my old batons dont have it, but ohh well=)

learn my friend: double blind, intimidate 2, 2 bleeds, dizzy and kd, health hit 3 miltiple times... most people dont' stand up... laugh and attack the next clostest person... i don't have trouble.

wait, i though they stopped bleed 1&2 from stacking or am i jsut imagining little patch notes that never happened?

Won't work against a doc, unless they are afk or havecompletely no idea how to PvP.

I posted the CM/rifle counter a long while back. Its fairly easy and if you're a TK you can med off the poisons while the CM is doing the dizzy flop. Since this is a turn based game it all depends on your awareness and initiative to start attacking first. Get a stun layered helmet for heavens sake. There are too many riflemen that rely on a Jawa Ion Rifle and never even consider switching vs. a stun layered opponent.
Teras Kasi is one of the most powerful professions in this game. Even against 80% kinetic your headhit1 will tear apart an opponents MIND fairly easily unless they have some darn good buffs. As a fencer if they have a stun layered chestplate I cant do any real damage and I'm stuck with a gimped vibroblade as my only semi viable option.
As a fencer/doc I have no problem vs. CM but still have to watch myself vs. a defense stacker and especially a TKM. If someone lands a stun on me my evasion effectiveness is slashed and I start taking real damage. I dont get a stun attack as a fencer just stun club.
Teras Kasi dont have much to really complain about. With a +200 damage and accuracy bonus plus defense, toughness, and mitigation you are the culmination of a walking tank with the gun to boot and we wont even say anything about med/powerboost. Entertainer buffs and a cheaply looted VK are your only real weakness. I really hope your razor knucklers turn out to be AP0 like every other heat weapon in this game.
p.s.- Innoculations and Area effect cures are going to be added very soon so DoT's in the game will become less of a consideration.
