Thread: Rifleman/pistoleers..

How do you beat them? I die in seconds when they use a stun weapon.. I just don't see how i can kill one all they do is run and mind shot... This is more of a problem with rifleman as they can apply the bleeds + they can easily get a very high damage ion rifle.. also this is with 37 stun helmet.

Get Master Brawler...U gain a 20m ranged KD with lunge2...Indimidate them asap...indimidate1 works in range of 30m....burst run...war cry and KD/Dizzy them....eating synthi-steak and wearing stun-psg not to forget...

Stun armour helps a lot - Best thing to do with these guys is Dizzy and Lunge. Once they are on Floor you can Hit them with all your specials. My secondary character is master rifle. With his Stun armour and Attachments he is hard to kill - but if you dizzy him and he falls he gets nailed bad.

Get stun armor.. 30-40% will do with a base of 80% in the hot areas for protection of the heavies.


Buy Imp Gen's, they hold about 46% stun protection. -remeber to re-equip every shuttle jump and relog no matter what.. (it always looks like it's on but it is actually a bug)


Draw him indoors.. Break line of sight to get him close. They usually keep alot of status defence in the KD dept. so u will need to slam them with status.


He tries to run, Warcry1, and retreat into the hotel or around the corner. He comes back, lay into him with the status...


Intimi1 will knock off 25% of his damage, and 25% of his soft defence, such as Counter, dodge, block,

Blind will make his skill accuracy go down by 50%

Stun will make it so his hard defences are dropped by 40% ( melee def, ranged def, def vs. KD..ect)

Dizzy will make it so he takes a 10% hard def hit and more likely to succumb to posture changes


Stay in the Cob.. U get a 2.5 multiplier to hit any ranged weapon user, use it.. at 10m that jawa is at a -50acc curve, on the run a -25, blinded a -50 to the skill acc mod..


If u can Burst and catch him.. do it AFTER u crap on his bar.. most blokes will get greedy and follow u into that cloner with no melee mit 3.. use it.. draw him in..


If he comes in with a friend, warcry the friend and work on KD'ing the target .. once he is in the fish flop, switch and take down the second target..


U in theed? Use that med center.. it has doors on bothsides which allows quick escape, has an elevator with 3 floors to lose those 5 guys comin atcha .. allows u to keep them in yer space or book if need be in 1 of 2 directions.

Drink two brandies and keep a muon hotkeyed. The muon acts as an emergency MIND heal and will temporarily boost your regen stats.


Always have a PSG. Dont bother with a high % psg stick with a +10% stun resist psg with very high "condition". This is your best first line defense against the geo pistol and will shave off a small amout of a Jawa's damage. The high condition means its not going to fizzle out after 5 shots.


Get a stun helmet and chestplate. The geo pistol is just like the stun baton. Against anyone wearing any sort of stun layered armor the AP0 stun weapon will not be as effective....ok it will suck completely. Most pistoleers will be using stopping shot or bodyshot3 both of which primarily target the chest region. A simple stun layered chestplate drastically reduces the damage you take even if a random shot hits you in an un-stun layered region. Eyeshot with a geo pistol against a stun layered helmet is as effective as meatlump hitting you.


If you are still taking massive damage with a 37% stun helmet you are


1) not MIND enhanced by foods or buffs


2) using a helmet with low or 0 condition


3) are fighting someone with a Krayt tissue enhanced Jawa Ion Rifle


If you are running you CoB properly you shouldn't be taking hits that often either. Accuracy mods on the JIR are pretty low so the Rifleman has to use snowcake (accuracy food) to make up for it. More and more riflemen are dropping their Jawa's for the dxr-6b due to its increased accuracy and AP2. As a rifleman myself I have to compete against other riflemen. I use a 36% stun helmet and a dxr-6b and will own a regular JIR user easy.


Strategy:


If they try and kite you run the other direction. Yes run away. Many will get an ego boost, change directions, and charge you. Change directions yourself and charge him. He'll have to reverse himself again but that takes time and lets you close the distance down to /lung1 range quickly. Posture downs are very tough to counter.


Rifleman bleeds as well as all other bleeds are worthless. No reason to use them since they are so weak. If the rifleman drops his JIR or dxr and pulls out a dlt20 noob rifle...stay away, stay far far away. It's probably got a MIND DoT on it when he looted the weapon and those DoT's can do nasty damage...espcially MIND fire.

he filled in most of what I forgot..

a few things to add..


keep TWO or more PSG's hotkeyed.. I personally carry around a crate with 3 out always...

Take the brandies before u engage, pop 719 33fill 11 min. canapes in the fight to boost yer will power.. pop the Muon at the last ditch..


There is a reason riflemen use the DX6 nowadays and it is not just accuracy.. AP2 is part of it.. but Imp gens do not cover blast, kinetic, or acid..


I have 40% stun coverage on ALL my armor.. low ham due to Night sister shards (800\900\800), with a PSG on (remember to get them sliced if u have time) I am 85-90% resistant to stun. since it covers all but the three.. the only weak spots in my armor is acid at about 85%, Kinetic at 80%, and blast at 85%...


The AP2 helps alot, but the acid is usally the bigger dmg.. most wear 80% kinetic, 80% energy stuff with low 75% cuts and the acid just eats through it..


..and.. The pistoleer disarm shot does good damage to the HANDS..lol
