Or at least everything i've read points to that. For now we can stop seeing that as an issue in our damage output in combat.

There will likely be Mitigation in some form, however there are no specific plans to include or remove the actual ability called Mitigation in the Sandbox.
What extent it remains as an Ability is not known, what extent it's replaced is unknown. But there are going to be Professions that rely on "Mitigation" as their method of Tanking. Weather that is simply being able to lower the ammount of damage incoming by armor, or by ability is unknown.

Hrm i was under the impression it was going to go away completely. I'm not entirely sure i like the whole idea of it anyways, at least not in pvp. There is already a dmg reduction in pvp so why make it more? I understand that the master level can be viewed as a 'reward' for mastery but i still just don't like it.
I'd like to see it put into a diff style, like perhaps master level defense toughness

Again I'm not certain in what form it will remain, but I know that some professions will rely on the reduction of damage thru various means to "tank". Doesn't mean that the current "Mitigation" will remain. They may just possibly get a certain ammount of Toughness to represent it.
