Thread: I'll be honest...

I've tested things out for the past week, and there's some things I like and don't like with the CU. I've tested for bugs, done PvP, tried different POI's to see how we match up, but there's one thing I can say is constant (for me, anyways): boredom.

Now, before anyone says I'm not giving it a chance, I have. Maybe things will be different once it hits live, but in all honesty, players need more time to test. Things could be better with controls, PvP, PvE, and many other things...but we need more time to test.

My hats off to those of you who've been testing things out on TC, but honestly, this is not what a lot of us wanted. This isn't what I wanted. Am I quitting? Not yet, as I'm curious as to how CU will play live. I'd like to go for the Corrospondent position, and see what I can do for my fellow Fencers, but my heart isn't in it right now.

Again, good luck to my fellow testers in CU, and I hope many of us are here post-CU, as well.

Its not that bad, the problem for many is that we have gotten use to playing the game one way. now even as we figure out the new play style its lacking our friends and the environment we are use to. I look forward to eclipse going to test so i can run all the test i need to. when im done i will make a bible post about the prof and what i have seen over the past week of testing. i hope you and others will stick around, i think the CU will be good for the game, and great for us as players.

Trust me, I've gone on the TC daily to test, and I've gotten the new controls down pretty good, but it's missing...something. I'm not sure what it is, but it doesn't feel right. I get told alot now "You're just not giving it a chance", but I've done that and more.

Its bleed is sorely lacking and the limited amount of anymations make it seem kinda blah.

Animations? Like the Bleed Animations or the Special that causes the Bleed? And what's the Bleeds strength at each level?

Ditto. I've spent about 10 hours on TC with fencer, doc, pikes, and cm. I really didn't like any of them, even after spending what I think is a considerable amount of time with them.

I didn't test any ranged professions, and think I will tonight for a little bit. Maybe that'll keep me in combat. Otherwise, it's all crafting for me. And if that sucks, it'll be cancel for both accounts.

I have to say the lack of animations makes combat a lot more boring...not "fast paced" like I was told.

I'm saddened by that, as well. Current combat is fast-paced...I don't know what the hell that stuff on TC is right now. I've mixed Fencer with various profession, and the one I had the most fun with is Fencer/Ranger. Fencer/Rifles was fun, as was Commando, but Fencer doesn't feel like "fencer" anymore.

With the rumors of the components getting downloaded starting tomorrow, bugs and all, it seems, IMO, that alot of peoples' time was wasted testing stuff out to make any pertenant changes. My hat's off to those who did go to the TC, and who posted there findings here. That was alot of time and patience on their parts.

He was cool as hell, and I knowmany of us will miss him. But to all those who are applying to the position, good luck to ya. I'm not going to, as it's gonna take a miracle to make me stay in this game by the time May 16th comes around (my account runs out).

Seriously, to everyone who tested or put some type of input or feedback about the CU in our home, thank you. Don't feel your time was wasted cause SOE decided to release the CU half-assed, and you did your part for the community. I'm proud of each and every last one of you.

I applied...I had wanted to be it for a long time

But my account runs out soon, real soon. I want to enjoy this game still....but I'm not going to lie to myself and say its good. We'll see how it looks when it hits live.

I hope kaotic gets it-he seems to dig it alright, enit?

He's diggin' on the game something fierce, haha!

Rain or shine, he's doing his thing in here, and that's cool. I can't say everyone of us could do the job, cause it takes heart and dedication, which is what all the other Corros had. But like you, Tal, I can't fool myself, anymore. My heart isn't in Fencer like it used to be. If I do stick around, I'm going all Pilot cause of all the cool ships I've seen coming out, and I'm a geek for space.

Then again, I'm a geek anyways.

Spooky coincidence. My account runs out on the 16th too. Already cancelled.

Fencer has been a great profession. Cool specials, funky animations, a defence/offence balance that was pretty close to being balanced and most of all a great community. Leaving aside the interminable template threads that used to clutter up the place, we've seen all sorts of interesting stuff here. From hard numbers on game mechanics to battlefield tactics throughout the history of melee combat and more besides.

Earlier today I was accused of leaving because I fear change. I don't fear change; I just prefer the game as it is more than the game it is turning into. The best of luck to those of you who stick around.

Fence on!
