I have been exparamenting with use low HAM weapons for non-damage moves like lunge, and found I could lunge all day long. I like to set it up so when I lungeI switch to dagger, and when I dizzyI switch to Ryyk. so I'm wondering if any body else doing this and how do you have it set up?

OH thats a *wonderful* idea..

Dont you lose a little time when you switch weapons, however?

Anyway, it makes sense to me to do it by setting your weapons in seperate hotkeys, then make a macro for each of your attacks.. I dont remember the command to use a hotkey, but something like

/usehotkey 12 (first weapon); /lunge;

As you can see, im at work and dont have access to *anything*

KatteZen,

I'm also at work ;(

the problem I see with /usehotkey 12 (first weapon); /lunge; is that I think if you do it twice in a row you will disarm yourself.

I'm think ether /usehotkey 12 (first weapon); /lunge; /usehotkey 12 (first weapon); or F5 = Low HAM weapon, F6-F8 = move for Low HAM Weapon and F5 = High Damage weapon, F6-F8 = move for High Damage Weapon. and just be sure to equip the right weapon before the move.

I use a vibroblade/curved sword combo. I just have regular hotkeys setup so I probabl lose a round of combat, but it is worth the switch.

Sometimes, I won't whip out my curved sword till I have the humanoid on his back. But overall the switching is very effective.

Well, I didnt consider that.. I was kinda assuming if you had your dizzy hotkey set up the same, then it'd be perfect.. But then you can miss

Probably the best will be:

/usehotkey 12 (low HAM weapon); /lunge1; /usehotkey 11 (Other weapon)

and leave your dizzy hotkey as normal. That way your lunge will always leave you with your other weapon out.

Hmm...How does this tactic work for things like Warcry, Intimidate, and Bezerk?

WOW! This is a great idea I like this. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow on tuskens.

What about a Survivalknife + intimidate + blind + lunge then switch to Ryyk + dizzy + meleehit2.........

Good idea, terek

Did anyone happen to test this yesterday and see if the weapon switching does slow you down?

I use this method all the time, and have never noticed a delay due to switching.

Also, since you can get crazy fast daggers and knives, this is a much more effective method for the lunge/dizzy combo than using a high-ham slower sword.

I have found the command /ui action toolbarSlot 02 or whatever works really well for other types of macros. I use it for my foraging and it looks kind of like this /forage; /pause 12; /sit; /pause 20; /stand /ui action toolbarSlot 03. Ohh yeah they are numbered 0-11 so if it is in the F2 slot use 01 but it allows me to loop it and allows me to add other toolbarSlots into my macro. Maybe this is the hard way but hey it works great. It also allows me to stop the maco just by right-click remove then let the macro run out then add it back in later. If anyone has anything better I would love to know.

quick question: has anyone used this successfully? i wrote out a macro that basically reads:

/ui action toolbarslot13
/melee1hdizzyhit1
/melee1hlunge1
/ui action toolbarslot14
/melee1hbodyhit1

where slot13 is my survival knife, and slot14 is my curved sword.

i have used "/ui action toolbarslot13" via command line and, sure enough, it equips the proper weapon. thing is, when i try to use the macro, the weapon decidedly does not switch. i've used the macro in combat and studied my inventory carefully. the items don't even blink. there's definitely no weapon-switching going on.

can anyone tell me if i'm doing something wrong? on paper, this should work. but in practice, it does not.

Sulayman,

I use macro's similar to that for equiping entire suits of armor with one key, and it gives me no problem.

Perhaps the issue here is that you're trying to equip items in the same slot (your hand)? Have you tried adding a pause of some kind before your second "/ui action"?
