Thread: New Master Fencer on Flurry
Mairu,
Can I ask you... I'm having a **very** slow time levelling. Imostly group with ranged and one TKA, fighting on Dantooine. We don't usually have a healer, so I need to be very cautious when closing in on the more dangerous MOBs. Usually I have to wear them done with carbine, then finish them off with my sword.
What's been your most successful approach? Do you attack with sword, and fade back when your HAM gets low? Do you fight with a Medic which allows you to keep closer proximity to the MOB? Do you find that certain creatures are just better for xp?
I'm Novice 0 0 0 1. I can see a huge difference after gaining Novice, but I'm having a hell of a time gaining the xp even to finish the bottom tier! I'm not looking to be a powerleveller, but I feel I'm in that 'awkward' stage- too big for kaduus/peko peko/greatershauputs but not big enough for voritors/grelatch/huurtons

Thanks so much for the tips Mairu- especially the lunge to assist when you need to 'back off'- I wasn't aware of that!
And I'd love to group with you one day!
Seena : )
Starting out as a fencer can be tough, but it gets much easier once you get your first bleed hit. As far as levelling go, although most of the time I group I guess my character is suited for soloing. I also have upper tier CH skills (4-3-3-3) and medic skills (4-4-4-0) which make it so even if I'm grouped I have something to do. As far as tanking goes, usually if I'm in a group or getting beat down really fast, the best way to go about it is when your ham gets low, back off. And it is really really easy to back off if you put in a lunge before doing it, because then the enemy can't chase you down (unless you miss of course) and it'll put the aggro on a different player.
But if I were you, I'd look for finding a good humanoid monster to fight, because lunge+dizzy is a great thing and you may as well abuse it until we get the 30second nerf :/. Dantooine is a great place to hunt, but you might want to go somewhere a little lower to get some of the beginning tier fencer skills, or try your hardest to get a medic
. If you happen to see me hunting in Dantooine (I'll probably be there awhile finishing up my CH skills), feel free to give me a hollar if you want me to come hunt with you... oh and to get some great experience, try to ask your teammates if they can let you exclusively tap the lair, and finish it off. Lair experience at higher levels can get very big and my ranged friends can understand the difficulties of getting melee xp so they ended up just letting me hit the lair exclusively.
