Thread: some aspiring Fencer questions ..
I just started a new char on Shadowfire with the intentions of reaching master Fencer. After reading the boards lately I think I need to also double up as a ranged profession as well to deal with PvPing ranged players. Is the fencer/smuggler combo a good idea?
I think that with some good pistol skills I should be able to hold my ownagainst a ranged attacker until I can get close enough to melee, but then again it might be a better idea to just go for fencer/carbineer. What are some opinions out there?
the fencer is going to be nerfed some more so i suggest u dont go fencer... since the only attack that gives fencers a chance make it pve or pvp is going to get nerfed..... u will find it very hard to solo anything if u can once the patch goes live..... i believe the decline in fencers will be more then ever... although there was never very many to start out with..... not to mention currently fencers do the least dmg then any other melee class... can take less dmg then any other melee class.... and dont really have an AH! move like the othermelee classes... for example TKA: meditate/knockdown SWORDSMAN:AREA3 PIKEMAN: SWEEP2. fencers have no moves that comes close to those.... not to mention we do less dmg and swing the same speed.... can u believe that? well i dont suggess starting over as a fencer from scatch as it well just be faustrating for u, since the patch is going to make us even weaker then we alrdy r.

man I keep reading all these things that make me want to change, but I spent like the last two days from scratch all the way up to novice fencer almost lol.I guess when I look at it another way it was only two days, right? But who is to say that we dont have some good changes coming in the future?
It sounds like we have so many issues that need to be addressed but the same goes for any other class. I am sure that pikemen and TKAs have issues that they wish were resolved but arent yet. So far I like the one handed class, all I have right now is a gaffi stick and I can hit up to 800+. On the other hand, I have yet to do any pvp so I dont know how we fare against other players.
Be a fencer because you enjoy it! I am always gettign into a pvp and most of the time losing, but every no and then I may get the upper hand and bring somone down. I do it for the fun of it, I mean cmon whats funny to watch, some dude runnign around a town with a gun shooting the crap out of you, while you run behind yielding a sword looking like Jason form friday th 13th. It's all in the fun.
