Fencer Archive

Ok, I have one character working up TKA, and another heavy sword. I thought I would give fencer a try. I started looking for weapons. I had heard so much about the Gaderiffi Baton, I wanted to find me one. I realize now, that I should get more experience before I start using it, but I was still stunned by the stats.

On the bazaar I found a bunch of them, pretty much all the same 49-98 damage and 5.8 speed. The funny thing is, with pretty much these same stats, the prices ranged from 400 cr to 3000 cr. I did find one that was 131-220 and 3.5 speed, for 3000 cr. From what I read here that would be more typical of what I should expect. But that is what confuses me. I had been under the impression that as you moved from pike, to heavey sword, to fencer to TKA, the weapons became faster.

My 2h cruved sword, as far as I know is unsliced and is 62-250 with a speed of 2.5. Now I expected the heavy sword to hit harder than a fencing weapon, but I was shocked to see that it was faster as well. So, if there is no speed advantage to fencing, is there any other reason to chose it over heavey sword, other than for role playing purposes?

OK if you didnt notice with 90 one handed speed at master any weapon you usewill hit the speed cap. Also thats our slowest weapon our one handed curved is only 2.3 and rkky is about 2.4. If you look at the two handed swords slowest weapon it is as slow as some of the pikemans weapons. Its not really the weapon that makes the speed its the weapon speed skill for example a tka gets +100 speed.
