Thread: When I think of One-Handed in SW..
I think daggers, knives and batons. Swords fitting into the more primitive cultures, but still there nonetheless. Anyways, this isn't really my point...
What I don'tthink of, is everyone running around with their weapons out, with knives and swords pointed up. I think of sheaths for your combat knife, attached to your leg or front breast. Swords slung over your back or sheathed on your side.
What I mean is, class specific clothing certs of sorts. Distuingishing players and their classes through simple aesthetic means, and to also help make things seem less.. less.. whatever the heck it is now. I don't mean just Fencers, but all classes of course.. but might as well start somewhere.
No delay between taking it out and attacking with it, no fancy animations for unsheathing. Just extra character to the class. More class to your character.
I'm sure there are more important issues right now, but there's no point in waiting to get ideas out. Might as well throw this out here while I still remember the whole thing. Although I'm sure its been brought up before, but its been brought up again.
I'm just sick of running around with my little dagger looking all silly : )
In the early part of the Correspondent program, the pistoleer corresponded forwarded a request for holsters.
This gained pistoleers much scorn from other players that lasted for a month or two.
That was because at the time pistoleers were fine, and everyone else was busted. They didn't think it was fair pistoleers were getting flashy stuff, and they were getting nothing. Although I think people were more upset that the Dev's also stated in the same post that they were looking into dual pistols as well.
I mean, we can be fixed, and work nicely. But that isn't all that great without a little personality.
We need scabbards/sheaths... various styles and colours, hip (sword/baton), thigh (dagger/baton), back (sword), chest (dagger)...
That simple... can't be incredibly hard to implement, graphics wise it's just an extension on the principles of belts and bandoliers. I personally don't see any downside O_O
my tears only make them laugh harder...
HAHA. I always found it funny that when I sit down with a sword it looks like I am trying to saw my leg off. haha

Or when you are sitting in a chair iwith a sword and your toon does the 'patting belly' animation it looks like you're trying to cut your face off. I keep telling Trazu he doesn't need to shave as he has no facial hair! ![]()
