Thread: Macro's and Fighting Technique
I was hoping to start a discussion on your favorite macro combinations for fighting with the Gaderiffi and/or Rykk Blade. Also, other than Jabba's mission, anywhere else to get the Rantok?
I just started getting into Macros and set this one up: war cry 1, 1 hand hit 2, dizzy 1, blind 1, 1 hand hit 2.
I think my problem is that I'm not using enough of the combat attacks available and was looking for input. Also my fencer skills are 1/2/1/1, so I'm not that high up yet. If I didn't have a good creature alongside, I would have trouble in battles that I would think should be easy now. So my guess is that I'm fighting totally wrong. As for armor, I don't use much. Justsome low HAM body armor, low HAM boots and a left arm bracer, also low HAM. I did fine that with more armor i was getting incapacitated much more, so i stripped down to this combo and have gotten good results.
Anyone?
I fight mainly NPCS (Tusken raiders at fort tusken are great exp) so I start out with my knockdown combo:
Dizzy1 (wait to see if it works, if not, repeat this until they are dizzy)
Lunge1 (wait to see if it works, if not, repeat until they are forced to kneeling)
At this point, most NPCS will fall down completely and stay down (sometimes for more than an hour). The stronger ones like Tusken Warlords will often get back up and then they cant be knocked down again for quite awhile.
If they fall down, I take off my armor and continue to kill them without specials to save HAMs
If they dont stay down, I use the following combo:
Heathhit or whatever it's called (the one that makes them bleed)
Intimidate
Blind
I repeat any that dont take until they are dizzy, blind, intimidated, and bleeding.
At this point I check my mind bar, and if I'm still good I use bodyshot 2 repeatedly to finish them off. If my mind bar is low I back off the specials for a bit to try to rechage.
Honestly I dont even know what stuff like dizzy blind and intimidate do, all I know for sure is that when i have all these stats on my opponent he doesnt do nearly as much dmg, not his as fast.
Hope this helps.
By the way I can solo anything at fort tusken and I'm currently getting between 1k and 4k exp per tusken I kill. I've never found anything that comes even close to this much xp.

if figting agaist creatuers try using a wacry1, intimidate1, healthbleed1, intimidate1,bodyhit2, bodyhit2
this wil allow you have a good chance to land intimidate as well as starting a bleed and using your adv of hitting one pool. Intimidate doesnt always land thats why i suggest putting in twice. You can try for moe but if you ae fighting a tough mob chances are you dont want to spend too muc time intimidating and not enough time killing. Intimadte wil save you from half the dmg as its roughly a 50% decrease in dmg. If you are master bawle swap in the second of those instead.
If fighting a NPC then try using Dizzy1, One Hand Lunge 1, Health1, Body2
This wil give a chance for a dizzy knockdown. If successful make sure you keep an eye on dizzy if it wears off you can try to intimidate, re-dizzy or warcry.
Use all the tools at your disposal and see wat works best for you. Cances are high that youll need at leat 3 maybe more macros for different situations. Personally I dont use them but thats just cause i dont have pets and all my doctor stuff is on a second screen. If looking fo some of the better moves to use then get master brawler also. The Lunge2 is a direct KD not a posture change, Warcry2 lasts 20 seconds, Intimidate2 is roughly a 75% dmg decrease and you get a little more defense, toughness, spd, accuracy and they all help.
other than that, i put my most common commands next to each other. F3 and F4 are dizzy and lunge, so it's a quick macro-on-the-fly. that way if stuff gets hectic, i don't have 5 commands to clear from the combat queue. one less button to press or mouse to click.
i'll probably macro lunge2 and dizzy when i get it.
and when i get the swordsman's area posture down, i'm gonna macro the weapon change to 2-handed curved, do the area posture down, and then back. with the area dizzy, it should be pretty wicked against those who want to gang up on me.
I use those same combinations that Master-Kensai said with only one varriation:
With NPC's, I usually add a 1handhit2 after the health1. Here is the justification for this:
1: With the Dizy / Lungecombo I find that you have a greater chance of doing a head strike or a leg strike on the npc. This means you already have done some decent damge to the A or M bars. With this said, if you are LUCKY you can usually get an instant kill with the 1handhit2 if you are lucky enough to hit the Action or Mind bar after already doing a chunk of damage on either of these with the prior combo.
2: Even if you are "unlucky," you just did a hit on his health in which case you can always use a Body hit to start knocking his H down. With a good "unlucky" hit you already have only one or two strikes before death.
With this combo, you basically back yourself up even if the other combinations fail to knock them out or change positions. Usually if I am lucky with this combo, I can kill a yellow with just another few hits. With whites it is usually instant death.
As always, if you miss with 3 specials, chances are you're probably already dead now either with the npc or his buddies that are now pounding on you and need to clone *grin*.

Creaturessolo: Warcry 2, Lunge 2, 1 Hand Hit 3. If not dead by now, stack 2 bleeds andwhittle em down with theweedeaterusing the standard attack or 1h Hit 1. H4rv357!
NPCs Solo: Dizzy 1 or 2, Lunge 2, 1 Hand Hit 3. Once again, if not dead by now, bleed twice and apply "The GaderrifiBeatdown" with minimal ham use attacks. LEWT!
NPCs with group: Lunge 2, dizzy if still alive, move to next NPC. repeat. LEWT!
Creatures with group: Warcry 2, Lunge 2. Move to next MOB. repeat. H4rv357!
I'm listening to any PVP suggestions if you care to share those here although I understand completely if that information is classified.
Of the few times that I have done the PVP, I've triedto pick my fights in the locations that suit me when at all possible. Small areas of town and whatnot. There is a 30 metercircle of death around me. I try to force them to stay there if at all possible. If they get out of that range, I try to find something that they cannot shoot through andmake them to come back to me or pick another target. I won't be kited for an easy kill.
I dont use macros. I need the flexibility of switching the lunge/dizzy to dizzy/lunge if needed. Should have mentioned that earlier I guess. :-)
If you are in PvP the only thing that works for me is to burst into combat, because most use ranged combat. Once you get there if you get there use the knock down combo once they are down you will win as long as you keep them down so just keep the dizzy attacks comming.
never use a macro unless you know it will always work.
as for armor just wear it at the begininng on the fight where you are most volnerable.(till you kd them)
It really depends if the opponent in PvP is a kiter or not
Kiter opponent in city: /follow; /melee1hlunge1(2); /melee1hhealthHit1; /melee1hHealthHit2
after that, i just keep body hit 3 them to death or if i am low on HAM, i run away.
Melee opponet: there is really no best macro coz' warcry and dizzy doesn't always work. but this is how I start /melee1hLunge1(2); /warcry2; /melee1hHit3; /melee1hHit3; /melee1hHit3 after this, depends if the opponent is low on health or not, then i will use bodyhit3, if not, i will try to KD the opponent again with dizzy/lunge combo
NPC: usually I am buff when i am out hunting, so i just use this macro, /follow; /melee1hHealthhit1; /melee1hHealthHit2 then i use the TAB key, and hit this macro again.
Creatures: /melee1hBlindhit2; /melee1hHealthHit1; /melee1hHealthHit2 after this 2 things will happened a. High HAM creatures: keep using intimidate and warcry
b. Low HAM creatures: spam bodyhit3 and 1handHit3
