Thread: How To Question...

Ever since the change in the AI of mobs, I haven't been able to reliably split mobs anymore. I used to be able to stand far away, engage without engaging, move forward and only have 1 creature come (out of two). Now I can't do that anymore... I also used to be able to send a pet up against a nest and pummel things from behind... can't do that either (as they autoattack me as SOON as they pop from the nest). I keep getting incapped (as I'm only just starting down the Fencer road from MBH), how can I keep this from happening? Any advanced techniques that you've got to split monsters with the newest changes?

Coming down from MBH I've got this currently:

3-2-0-0 CH
0-4-0-0 Brawler
4-0-4-0 Scout
0-4-0-0 Marksman
0-0-0-0 Pistoleer

Going for a Master Fencer, Master Pistoleer hybrid.

well, being low in fencer, this is a problem. i have had the same problem, pulling entire mobs instead of one at a time. since i am currently ch (though i plan to drop) i have learned how to get all the aggro on my pet. when i was early in fencer, this was vital, but every now and then i'd get an attack from the creature, be killed in two hits.

now, however, with the extra defense mods, when i get aggroed i don't even run, i just put on my high ubese, use CoB, and blind the creature (i am a 4-4-3-3 fencer, 3-3-1-4 ch, 3-1-1-0 medic). i'm becoming more dependent on myself rather than my creature as a tank. so, my advice is to get some good ubese (if you don't havesome already), try to keep the aggro on your pet (for the time being), and once you reach high fencing levels experiment with taking the creature's aggro so you can eventually become a better tank than any of your pets.
