Thread: For those who have dueled a TKM and won

What are your observations... what specials/combos seemed to work the best?

I have yet to knock one down... are people having better luck not even trying, and moving straight to the heavier hitting moves?

I've found a few posts on this subject, but didn't find them particularly helpful.

And please... to any TKA's who may be reading this - It is not meant in a 'challenging' or 'L33T' way. So please lets not let it deteriorate into a 'competition' as these types of posts have in the past.

Thanks.

omg how could j00 think u culd beat up a tkmzzoor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111

haha

but seriously, i personally think it's awesome. it gets very boring and repetitive when the only person who will spar with you is another tkm. i just wish there were more of you guys out there!

ina match of no-dizzy, no-kd (the *only* way to spar imo) most TKMs that i've sparred with use 1 move: spitting rawl (unarmed hit 3). the thing is, they spam the heck out of it, which takes their ham down just as fast as you are taking their ham down. a good tactic now would be to wait until they start a uh3 spam and then just hit cob. they will drain all their ham and not hit you once heh. another thing to watch out for us the head hits. that's another favorite TKM spammed move. wearing a helmet will make the fruits of that labor worthless

i mentioned cob back there. that is an enormous advantage that every other melee class has over TK, since the ''defensive accuity'' mod for tk is currently broken. if you are into spamming specials, then you will need to pick a heavy hitting special that you can spam at the speed cap. that is super important, because all of a tk's specials can be spammed at the speed cap. i would also suggest stacking a couple of health bleeds. those moves are quick to do, and even if you only get 2 ticks, it's totally worth it imo.

lastly, the biggest advantage you have over TKM is (and i hate to say this) intelligence. tk has been equated to the ''bounty hunter of melee professions''. as such, alot of people tend to flock to it because they want to be ''uber''. generally, these people are.. well let's just say i wouldn't call them 'strategists' to put another way, finding a tkm that really knows what they are doing is like finding an entertainer that isn't afk. there are a ton of entertainers, but many are sleeping/working/watching tv heh. but i don't mean that in a way that's offensive to you (like syaing that you can only beat our worst fighters - even tactless fighters can be very dangerous, heh, i know firsthand!!) i'm saying that tact isan advantage you have over people.

hmm... i think somehow i've managed to offend everyone now, so i'll shut up!

Awww Jenyme.... (SMOOCH!!!)

What a very helpful and sportsmanlike post! You certainly didn't offend me at all ( lol and my sarcastic eye is ever observant)... I truly appreciate your insights..

I have a hard time finding people who will spar for fun.... And then, if I do happen to win, I have to listen to multiple excuses... which takes ALL the fun out of it for me.

My major handicap is that I can't "touch type", meaning I have to look at the keyboard to type-- and it's very difficult for me to read the combat que, and pay attention to the fight, AND type at the same time...

I should have listened to my mom when she told me to take typing!

Thanks again!

Hey Jenyme,

Good post and i agree with a lot of it. Tough from weat i ave seen wen dueling a MTK i wat support tey have also. For instance as a master doc im hader to kill specialy with my 3 crates of mk3's in my pack. But a Master doc / MTK has a bigger adv in the power boost in addition to the buffs....

all in all it does boil down to tactics as much so in the fight as in the character build. Tankyou for your elp in this as you guyz are atm the bane of my melee existance lol....

Master fencer wont lose to a equaly buffed and equaly armoured TKM unless he's a Master Bralwer or sticks a nice kd/dizzy in there you cant recover from.

Im personaly on a mission to have the kd spam move set along the same standards as bounty hunters. If they cant spam it then why should another class.

And like someone suggested, your best bet is to first get a dizzy on em and then 2 bleeds. After that concentrate on warcry and intimidation, also helps if you have a shirt with +16 to warcry.

If you get kd/dizzy, I have a macro for hitting them even when im on the ground. Its very tricky and takes alot of hard work to perfect this, but when you do it wont matter anymore if your kd or not..

If you already have a dizzy on em use this macro. /stand;/melee1hLunge1 dont spam it to much because you will force them out of a kneeling state. You must move your mouse side to side at the same time to allow you a 1 second window to hit them..Works with all moves but this realy blows their mind..

And good armour, man that is so important. If you arent wearing any then the fight is over in seconds vs minutes.

I was under the impression that dizzy did nothing unless combined with a posture change move. And your chances of a successful posture change with a Master TKA are close to nil.

The dizzy is your last ditch effort at a kd, if u already have a dizzy state on a tka and get kd yourself u can spam lunge until they change posture. Just because they have defense vs posture change doesnt meen they are imune.

Go fight a tka and ask that no kd's are used, its a whole new ballgame. With cob you have a good chance of not being kd on the first couple of attempts, but the fact that tka can just spam this until you are is what makes them tough.

Each class has its strengths and weakneses, tka are good at getting you on the ground and beating the crap out of you, so if you need to find a way around it. Warcry is your best freind in this situation, especialy if your a master brawler..

Learn to control your target and make sure to blind/dizzy/bleed them and keep your cob up at all times..tka accuracy is ungodly compared to other melee class, so blind is deffinetly a key for victory..

But until somethng is done to prevent kd spam in pvp, tka will always have the advantage over melee class even, pikemen.

Bleed 2, dizzy 2, blind 2, lunge1, and varation between body3 and hit3

The attic was less to us from the cellar the bones like the attic let them have it let them stay in the attic. When they sometimes come down the stairs at night and stand perplexed behind the door and headboard of the bed brushing that chalky skull with chalky fingers with sounds like the dry rattling of a shutter. Thats what I sit up in the dark to say.

Well KD isn't a problem for me - my KD defense is 80, and posture change is 90. I haven't been knocked down in ages.

I've also found that scatter hit is one of the most powerful attacks against TKA.
