Thread: A few questions from a new fencer...
I have played this game from the begining, became master carbineer, bounty carbine 4, and had alot of fun doing that. Now I dropped the bounty, dropped all of carbineer, and all of marksman...I needed a change of pace.
So now I kept scout and am 1/2 done with master ranger (1-3-1-4). I want to become a fencer because I have heard good things about their combat ability. My last profession choice was alot of fun and I could kill just about anything.
Anyway, my questions are as follows:
1. I have noticed from screen shots you guys use a variety of weapons like I did at carbineer. What is a good combination to use as well as opening combinations for fights?
2. After dropping my other professions I have enough combat xp for the first 2 levels of fencing finesse, what should be the first tier I complete in the fencing profession?...ex I did the speed tier first in carbineer and that helped me greatly.
3. How does armor affect combat? I have a full suit of advanced composite armor but it seems to slow me down alot. What should I wear for armor? (keep this in mind; I play 2 accounts at the same time and my other is a master doctor, so healing is not an issue, my health and action pools are basically endless)
4. What are some good mobs with high HAM to fight. Brawler/fencer is different from the high HAM mobs I could fight at carbineer (atleast for now they are) because I could run around and shoot and almost never get hit.
Thats all I can think of for now. Thank you for taking the time to read this and help me out. When I get better I will try to help out those in need.
Also andy fencers or brawlers on gorath that likes to group, feel free to add Danntrag to your friend list and give me a tell ingame. I am happy to help.

hope i helped

This kinda depends, we have several good weapons unlike carbineers (i used to play carbineer on chil, before playing fencer on test) where theres pretty much just the DH17 snubs and laser carbines. The curved sword is what i currently use, it is fast and has nice damage, but the downside is the mind HAM cost. Vibroblades are supposed to be pretty nice, but on test center there arent really any good ones (few master wep smiths). Gadderfi batons are what a lot of people use. They are our best damaging weapon, but tend to be a bit slower than the others too, this is countered howevery by our nice speed mods. Stun Batons are poor weapons usually, but in duels against players in composite, you will have better luck with a stun baton.

I was advised to get the box with body hit 2 firstand then to go up the speed tree. Speed mods will help you greatly, because then you can opt to use a slower, but more damaging weapon.

Like i said before, mind HAM cost is an issue with curved swords, so you may not want to wear a helmet when using one. Armor is pretty beneficial in combat. Ubese with very high kinetic resists is what you want for most of your PVE, but composite with high kinetic would be beneficial aswell.

Hmm well pickets are good xp and have something like 9k HAM /shrug
