Thread: I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but. . .
Well, there aren't many 1h weapons available, but the one that really caugh my attention is that there are not any rapier style weapons. What's a fencer doing without any rapiers, epee, foils, sabres, etc? Well, as a soon to be fencer, my big request is for a vibrorapier. It would probably be a novice fencer cert, maybe 1h 4 in brawler. I was thinking something along these lines would be fairly balanced, by comparing it to the vibro blade:
Speed 2.5-3.0
AP: Light
Kinetic
Min 50-75
Max 130-160
Wound 18%-24%
Range Mods +0-+10
H 20-28
A 35-45
M 20-28
It's been discussed several times. In fact, it's amoung our submitted issues. The devs has mentioned that they like several of our ideas for new weapons, but until they clear their current palette of weapon issues they do not wish to add even more weapons into the game, complicating the issue even more.
On a positive note, we have quite a few weapons compared to TKs, who have only 1.
please for the love of all that is holy-- NO foils as weapons..... They are not weapons....

light armor piercing on a rapier? try none.. an epee or a sabre might get AP1, but not a rapier or foil..

Um... I don't know if you've ever actually seen (or weilded) any of these 'weapons' (I use the term lightly with epee sabre and foil)up close and personal. But the rapier is easily (physics wise) the one, when compared to the others, which would be able to render armor. And that would have to be super THIN armor, and an especially well tempered rapier blade.
Unless they want to imbue the weapons with special qualities (like the vibro blade has now), which would make the 'physics' of the weapon absolete.

For the love of god I'd like to see Master Fencers and Master Swordsmen get Cert for Lightsaber with inherent -50 to -100 accuracy to reflect that we can't sense it's position like a Jedi...
But our styles both could accept a lightsaber as a weapon... I mean we can't build one, can't repair one, but we should be able to use one if somewhat ineffectually.
I just want to be a Quixotic Jedi...is that too much to ask?

Well, I did say vibrorapier in the opening post. The vibroblade has an AP of1 and it's only a dagger. I'm quite familiar with the fiction of vibro weapons from the EU, and I believe there was a rather roguish pirate who favored a certain brand of vibrorapier somewhere in the books or magazines (been a long time since I've read most of them). Basically, I'm going for a musketeer-type personality with my character, and the pistoleer/fencer/smuggler combo fits that personality best.
