I am a brand new fencer. I just qualified and trained last night. I already qualified for 2 of the 4 skills in the last tree thanks to the combat XP I gathered while a BH. I am wanting to know which skill tree I should climb first. I would like the tree that gives me the best chance to hunt tougher prey in order to earn higher XP. I would love to hear suggestions from you battle hardened veternas

there is no reason for anyone else to post after this, go straight up the footwork tree...dont even look at stances and grips or techniques until you are a "fencer"....you will get great speed health bleeds and center of being....lol....good luck on fencer, you will have a blast

Actually, I think the footwork tree's one-hand health hitswound the opponent's health, not make their health bleed.

your speaking priveledges have been provoked until you try the skill outself, its a bleed, we are fencers we know what we are talking about, try fencer and you will find out, newbie

Newb: Go up footwork and stack the bleeds and enjoy the speed mods.
The other guy(newb dont read you'll just be confused)
Just to be fair, the ingame description of the skills does say "Wound" but as in wound they mean open a gash in the opponents chest causeing them to "bleed" and not close up and what not...so it kinda says wound...but it is a bleed...

I agree with focusing on Footwork first. However, I'd also recommend picking up Intermediate Fencing Technique early, too. One-Hand Body Hit 2 is a great attack to have, and helped me greatly in climbing the Footwork boxes. Also, you don't have much dodge yet, so the +15 there is a huge boost early on as well.
I'm by no means an expert as I haven't mastered yet, but I feel I benefited greatly by getting the first Technique box early. If you just go up Footwork first I'm sure you'll do fine, as so many others have, but this is what has worked for me.
Whatever you do, there is no doubt that Footwork should be the main focus early. Getting the speed mods to swing that damage sliced gaffi fast is huge.

All great suggestions! Thank you very much. I too was confused when reading the gained attacks. I saw nothing that indicated a bleed. But if you experienced fencers say that they are bleeds, then who am I or that other guy to argue. I will be glad to get a DOT attack!
Thanks again!
