Thread: Dodge nerf?
Greetings,
I am thinking about making a RPG kind of police so I want to use batoons just for the looks and pistol for ranged, as that would look the most 'police-like', still I would like to be good in pvp (soI can kick scumbags) so was wondering if the stackable dodge from pistoleer and fencer will get nerfed? any word on this? I read the FAQ but didnt see anything about upcoming nerfs to it?

this is stated in the real scope on dodge thread:
''THE MODIFIERS TO DODGE ARE ONLY ENABLED WHEN A DODGE-LINKED WEAPON IS EQUIPPED. It does not matter if you have a One-handed Weapon or a Pistol, both are Dodge-linked; both activate the Dodge modifiers.''
is this not true?

This sounds good for the moment,
too bad they haven't said anything about changing cause I wouldnt want to grind fencer/pistoleer and right when I am about to have some serious fun RPG'ing they change it!
Also, how useful are the stacking mods from fencer/pistoleer in pvp?

I feel if you're going to spend all those skill points to master 2 elite professions, you should be able to use the abilities. For example, if I were to get a black belt in Kempo (which I have by the way), I would be the master of counterattacks and offense. If I were a blackbelt in a more defensive form like Tae Kwon Do (sp?), what would stop me from using the defensive techniques of one and merge it with the other, more offensive form? NOTHING! But then, some politically correct jingo from San Francisco would hire the ACLU to sue me from being unfair. Waaaaa.
I am a master at both professions and though i am hard to hit my offense sucks pure and simple in PVP. I can slowly whittle people down, but i am FAR from unbeatable. I thought that was the original intent for us. This is balanced in my opinion. I traded offensive power for the ability to last a little longer. THe only offense i have is if i can catch people with out stun layers in there armor (getting rarer).
Its the rifleman rang/melee def templates that are giving people the biggest problem. I have stood toe to toe with a rifle man at point blank range and continually missed him as he spammed head shot. THAT MY FRIEND is unbalanced. Thought they were supposed to be easier to hit at point blank ranged at the last patch.
/pshrug "guess not"
yah... they still stack and quiet well too... i never hit him once... took 30 ppl to take him down.... and i am 0 3 1 4 in fencer....

Oh, God, not this again. Ok, you want it from a pistoleer/fencer ... well I was a master pistoleer and 0232 fencer for awhile. I had so much fun with fencer, that I rarely used my pistols for anything other than the 2 stackable bleeds to add to the third that I had as fencer. I rarely got hit ... ever. The most I ever got hit was when there were large mobs (3+). Now I am putting away combat in order to live a more peaceful crafting life. I am now a 1041pistoleer and 1243 fencerand let me tell you what a difference it made. Before, I could solo huurton huntress lairs, unbuffed with just a blade and never be incapped. Now, I can barely solo a huurton howler lair without gettting incapped. Before, I rarely got touched, now I get hit all the time. My dodge before was at 165, now it is at 115, still more than either master alone, but still get hit. Of course my melee defense is also down from 65 to 35, so I'm sure that makes a difference as well, but I am currently on the road to mastering fencer and will work up the first tree and see if it really is any different. I'm telling you, for me, it was all about the dodge.
