Thread: Spin Attack Observations

This may be old news to some, but I just wanted to state it, as I've never seen it written and many people seem to not know it.


Spin attack currently works as follows:



  • HAM cost for spin attack is determined by


    • Level ofany mob you hit.

    • number of mobs you hit.


This means that spinning into a groupof greens will kill them all, at minimal HAM cost. Doing the same in a group of reds will drain about half your HAM.



  • If the mobs are not it combat with you, the spin attack will only damage your current target. However,


    • you will lose HAM for all targets in range

    • all targets that should have been hit will now attack you.


That is all. I just wanted to post my observations.

Tlaloc i've seen several of your posts and i noticed something:


1) your posts are well composed


2) you are very mature in your posts


3) you know alot of the intricacies of the Fencer profession



have you ever concidered asking SOE to be the replacement correspondant?

I'm flattered... but I'm not a master fencer yet (so i couldn't speak to all our issues), and I'm really too busy with work to devote enough time atm.


I program from home - that's the only reason I can frequent the boards so much. Infact, I probably get to read the boards more than play the game.

If the ham is so high on attacking multiple emeies, it makes me wonder if its wort it, but before the patch, I used it alot and was very pleased... before the patch.

Thats strange cause my ham costs are always the same using spin attack, whether on one green mob or 4 yellows, its always drain 122 mind... and some action and health. But its never been anymore or less than 122 mind... hmmm mayhaps ill hafta retest this when i get home from work. Maybe it changed.

hmm, perhaps I'm wrong on this one. I've been wrong before (one other time at most), so it's possible.

I am skeptical too, but am very interested in hearing the results of in depth testing.


As a plus for fencers I hope your wrong.

I pretty much exclusively use spin attack when I solo, and I never noticed any increase in ham costs when I hit 1 or more mobs. Then again when you have 3+ mobs hitting you it is hard to keep track. Did notice I'm takeing a helluva lot more dmg since patch.
