Fencer
Primary Role: Close Range DoT Specialist (Damage-Over-Time via Bleeds)
Secondary Role: Close Range Crowd Control (Position Control)
Offense: Strong(4)
Defense: Weak(2)
Crowd Control: Moderate(3)

The Fencer is a lighting fast attacker who specializes in hit and run combat. While Fencers have fairly weak defenses making them less than ideal for standing toe to toe with their opponent, they will employ many abilities that help them reduce their need to stay within range of their target.

As a primary Damage Dealing profession Fencers will have damage output second only Rifleman and Swordsman, however their attack style is very different and unique. Their defensive abilities will end up being very weak ensuring they must rely on hit and run tactics. Basic Crowd Control abilities support their role as hit and run combatants making them a very potent damage dealer in combat.

Profession Mixing Tip: Because of their weak defensive skills Fencers will benefit greatly from additional defensive skills from Teras Kasi or Pikeman or a player could choose to widen their offensive arsenal by adding Swordsman abilities

Er....Wouldn't a strong offense be the same thing as damage dealing? Two ways of saying the same thing.

lol yeah but my point is that we are not what they say that we are

I can hardly do much damage at all and we have no area attack and only one dot

their wording is a little confusing.

but it's KIND of accurate:

dmg second only two rifle and swords - this much is true - though i think pikeman is pretty much in line with fencer for straight dmg dealing.

all the fencer skills are offensively oriented: you get more powerful lunge (very handy!), blind (passive defense), bleed (bah, it's too weak), cripple (fantastic skill to have as melee!!!), and Bind (again, awesome move in PVP).

you want to piss off a swordsman? open with lunge, Bind, and blind. have fun watching him swing..miss..drain action..swing...miss.drain action.. keep cob on and when he does hit you, you'll survive.

wanna tick off that BH/rifleman? cripple his a$$ and go to town with blind/bind/lunge/body hits.

i think the most important skills to pick up as a fencer are improved COB, armor break, and critical strike (the last being optional).

you can do very well with this skillset. mostly a PVP oriented skillset, but it will serve you well in pve also.

i dunno..sounds pretty offensive to me!
